Re: Images won't display in the .CHM file on other machines
Yes, deleting \Output and \Analyzer are my go-to first problem-solvers. If you also delete \Users, you will lose some of the custom settings you might have added in your project (like pinning frequently used styles to the top of the Styles window, for example) so try just deleting the first two (wh...

Re: Images won't display in the .CHM file on other machines
I doubt it will resolve your issue, you could try adding the MadCap:targetname text to the problem link. The only other idea I have is that the image has actually gone astray, but flare has a ghost memory of it. Digging into the cobwebby depths of my brain, I think I had to delete the Analyzer (and...

Re: Images won't display in the .CHM file on other machines
Can you show the HTML code in Flare for the two links in your original screenshots? Perhaps that will shed some light. for the problematic doc: <p class="NormalPicture"> <img src="Resources/Images/ParameterPropertiesAccess.png" /> </p> for the non-problematic doc: <p class="...

Re: Images won't display in the .CHM file on other machines
Hello, I assume that in the first case your image is not stored inside your local project. I find that if I've built the CHM on a network drive, I can't see the content of it at all until I copy it to my local drive. Could that be a similar situation for you? If you copy the misbehaving CHM to your...

Images won't display in the .CHM file on other machines
It seems that the image linking in two different projects despite the identical CHM target settings is performed in different ways during the output build. This is the image URL in the CHM file where images display fine (displayed by right-clicking on the image and selecting "Properties" i...

Re: No search capability in CHM help after Flare 12 upgrade
I cannot see why MadCap have not made the dll registration oa part of the installation yet. This is so frustrating.

Re: Inconsistent margin/padding/gap between header/body in W
Pff, I am not THAT of a rookie. It is one target and the screenshots of the sections of THE SAME output. How can I combine different targets for one output?

Inconsistent margin/padding/gap between header/body in Word
I use MasterPages for Word and generate PDFs along with Word output. The gap between the header and the h1. heading is different in the output with no clear logical pattern. An example Stylesheet with h1 and p. styles imported both for default and WordDocument mediums, a MasterPage and a PDF example...

Re: Creating Word dos with several page sizes using Masterpages
Seems like the most logical way is using conditions for different formats and inserting several (one per each page size) body proxies into masterpage. Havenot tried it yet, but I think it must work.

Creating Word dos with several page sizes using Masterpages
I need to create Word outputs in Letter and A4 page sizes using MasterPages. So far we do it by creating separate targets for each page size, separate identical (except for different page sizes) MasterPages for each page size) and separate TOCs in which the topics get assigned to the corresponding M...

Table header gets orphaned in Word output
Perhaps this topic has been covered however I could not find it. The problem I have with Word output is the table header get orphaned as in the picture attached. I have set the page-break-after property to "avoid" both for <th> and <thead> tags in the master stylesheet. I am using Flare 8.

Re: Combining Multiple Projects
Is there a way to merge projects into MS Word output? I have a smaller project describing a proprietary expression language which relates to several product guides. I inserted the smaller project (and specified it MS Word target) as a TOC entry to a parent user guide project, yet when building ms wo...

Re: Word output puts just one line of text per page
Try this, although it's a pain in the ass, but it'll narrow down the problem. First, make a copy of the stylesheet file as your backup. Then open the original stylesheet file in the Internal Text Editor and delete all page-breaks attribute lines from every style. Save the stylesheet, rebuild, and s...

Re: Re-using Word templates with stamps as Page Layouts?
Sorry, I do not get it how can you apply macros in Word converting styles when Flare does not apply any styles when rendering Word output and just hardcodes local formatting?

No I checked margin and padding values for <li>, <ul>, <ol>, <p> - they are either 0 or not set.

Re: Word output puts just one line of text per page
Thank you, this attachment feature is great! Actually I have just made a new layout which works however I have not found out what is the reason of such behaviour. Still if this works OK with a different layout means that the paragraph style is OK and something wrong with the particular layout. Anoth...

Word output puts just one line of text per page
WordOutput.jpg I am starting getting mad, not because Word output when I have applied a page layout with custom header and body frames just put 1 line of text per page (see the attached picture) but because I wanted to attach the layout file and discovered that FLPGL files are not allowed - at the ...

Re: Autonumbering in paragraphs tracing heading number
This way of autonumbering I know. I meant an "automatic" autonumbering of headings and paragraphs in "interaction" so one does not have to apply corresponding paragraph level styles manually. The idea is that: 1. <p> following the heading would check the autonumber of the heading...

Autonumbering in paragraphs tracing heading number
I am not sure if this has not been covered in existing topics, I could not find the answer at least. I want my paragraphs to be numbered according to the heading auto-number without having to implement and apply different paragraph classes so it looks like this: 1. Heading 1st level 1.2 Heading 2nd ...

Re: Re-using Word templates with stamps as Page Layouts?
Not really. When importing, Flare creates a master page that includes some aspects of the Word template, but I have found that they are not very useful. If you have a Footer with the page numbers or date (or file name or whatever), Flare hard codes the date or number rather than inserting a variabl...

Re-using Word templates with stamps as Page Layouts?
Is there any direct way to import a Word template document with stamps (like in the picture in the attachment) and make a Page Layout (or a Master Page)to apply it then to Word output in Flare 7?

Re: Insert \ paste XML code sample in topic w orig formatting?
OK,
so far I enclosed CDATA tag with the <pre> tag. Works fine.
perhaps anybody knows how to make the code highlighted? I mean, not code in general but this specific XML code. I am afraid it might be tricky\impossible to do.

Insert \ paste XML code sample in topic w orig formatting?
Hello all, Sorry if that question has been already discussed here. I have not found it. I am trying to insert a complete XML schema file into a topic. First, Flare recognized it as native XML code and tries to parse it and I had the "Wrong XML declaration" message dialog appearing on the s...
