I'm using Madcap Flare 9.

When I publish the files into PDF the following erorr message appears and no publication is built:

Linking cross-references...
Creating chapters...
Paginating...
Compiler (Internal Error): A generic error occurred in GDI+.
Aborted.
.....

Can I use TOC-{n} in the properties of the topic to define the page number of Table of Contents in printed manuals? It seems it not work at my end...

I'm using madcap flare9 and output pdf files which is quite large, upto 1500 pages. but some of the pictures cannot be shown in the output pdf file.

What's the problem?

I have a set of xml files, and would like to import to madcap flare for editing and publishing. How to revise the tags to allow madcap flare read it and finally output the targets?

I began to use Madcap Flare V9 recently, which is upgraded from V6 directly. I used to edit contents in xml, but it seems the tags of attributes are all hidden from users in V11.

Why this happened? Can I edit xml in V9 as before in V6?

I'm using Madcap V9. I changed my computer and so I need to reinstall Madcap V9, but after i input the license key, an error message pops up:

"Unable to activate MadCap Flare V9. You have run out of activations for this product on the domain ...../"

What can I do to activate the software?

I'm using Madcap Flare V6 and trying to move the software to another computer. Can i use the same license key or should I apply a new one? thanks for your help.

I found out the reason. It not the fault of the software, but i have repeated files and folders.

I'm wondering how if the software can warn the situation?

I'm trying to find what topic, or htm files in Content folder, are not included in my TOC. I chose View > Project Analysis, and then Topics not in Selected TOC, and the Filter TOC, but the results show the files that I've included in the TOC. Is it a bug of the software?

I've solved the problem...by copying the TOC in the same project, and place the copy into the target settings....

I guess it's a bug of Madcap Flare V6....

I've set different Conditional Text to topics. Is there anyway I can count the number of the files set with the same conditional text tag?

Or, is there any way I can know how many files have been linked to a TOC?

I had to go through a lot of trial and error, but the way you do that is to go to the TOC, and then adjust the Printed Output options in the ...

I set page number in footers of Chapter to the variable "Chapter number-page number", and "page number" in that varialbe starts from 1 every chapter.

It looks good in the chapters. However, in Table of Contents, the auto-generated page number only has page number, without the chapter number.

I just wonder why the parenthesis can display correctly in word output, but wrongly in pdf output....

Thanks ChoccieMuffin, but there are numerous brackets, i can not possibly add ful unicode values one by one. Is there any other way I can deal with it in batch?

I'm using Madcap Flare V6.1.0, and trying to build a pdf in Chinese language.

In the pdf output, the brackets are displayed as English font in single byte. However, acctually in original html file, they are in double bytes, which is correct.
For example:

I'm rendering pdf file with Table of Content. Some topics in my TOC repeat. When the topics appears again, the page number indicator in that Table of Content refers to the place where it appears first, but not the actual page number. Can I know how to deal with it?
