Re: Publishing Output to a Wiki?
Thanks for the replies. Not exactly what I was hoping to hear of course - sounds like more work than is feasible for a large doc set.

Publishing Output to a Wiki?
My company is considering publishing all technical documentation via Confluence Wiki. Is it possible to create a target that could be easily imported into the wiki, thus allowing me to continue to author in Flare?

Re: H2 in Footer not updating in new chapter
Thanks, Lisa. I have two page layouts - one with H1 and H2 footers and a second with H1 footers only. Madcap support suggested applying the H1-only page layout on the chapters that don't have an h2 on the first page, then setting a page layout break on the next topic and applying the H1-H2 page ...

H2 in Footer not updating in new chapter
I want to use a page layout which has both H1 and H2 headings in the footers. This works well in chapter that have an H2 heading on the first page. However, any chapter without an H2 on the first page will show the H2 from the previous chapter. Is there any way to get the H2 in the footer to 'reset ...

Add external link to logo in HTML5 output
The old WebHelp output let me attach a link to our corporate website (an external site) to the company logo at the top of the help. I'm converting to HTML5 and would like the same functionality. Has anyone figured out a way to do this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Table won't break across pages
I'm having the same problem, and I'm pretty sure it's caused by the Avoid Page Break After setting on the heading and <p> tag preceding the table. One solution is to force a page break before the preceding heading and REMOVE the Avoid Page Break After on the <p> tag before the table. For some reason ...

CHM Search Returns Multiple Instances of the Same Topic
Search on a term frequently returns duplicate instances of the same topic. Any idea how to stop this behavior?
I'm using Flare v7.
I saw this same topic posted a couple of years ago but the suggested remedies did not work for me.

changing bullet for sublist
My unordered lists have a solid round bullet for first-level list items. Sub items have a hollow round bullet. I don't want to add a special image, but is it possible to change the bullets for the list and sublist to another character such as a dash?
For example:
o First Item
o Second Item ...

Re: Pasting text into p.class
Thank you for the response. The problem is that after pasting, the text is no longer selected, which means needing to select the entire pasted section and then choose the class.
I'll open a feature request.

Pasting text into p.class
Hi all,
Is there the equivalent of Word's Paste Special in Flare 7? I am having to copy/paste large chunks of text and while I want it to retain its paragraphs, I would like to paste it into a special class. As it is, it goes into <p> and I have to reselect it all and add the class <p.license_text>.

Re: Expand a single drop down by default
I was actually hoping for a tag or something similar within the product. The scripts look as though they expand all drop-downs, which I don't want. I also don't want to go to that much effort.

Expand a single drop down by default
Hi
I've got a long topic with multiple subsections. I created drop downs for each subsection to let the reader select the wanted section. However, I've been asked if the first section can start out in the expanded state. The user could then close it if desired, but it would be visible right away by ...

Re: Image outside the frame
Thanks!
I created a new class on the .img tag. It wasn't necessary to set the image as the background because the image takes the entire page width, but giving it a negative margin and padding pulled it into the left margin perfectly.

Image outside the frame
Is it possible to have an image that protrudes out into the margins? I have a wide graphic that needs to go into a PDF (and needs to move with the text with which it is associated). It needs to extend out into the margins just a bit to remain legible, but I can't figure out a way to do that.

Re: Space between bullet and text in lists
That did it!
And yes, I also changed the margin of my p tag and didn't think about it carrying forward to the li p.
Thank you so much for an elegant solution!

Space between bullet and text in lists
I've had to change fonts and now the space that exists between the bullet (or number) and actual text in list items seems excessively large. I've experimented with padding and margin-left at the ul level, but it doesn't seem to change anything. Is there a way to change the amount of space between ...

Re: Changing icon beside caption for output window tab
I'm not uploading to a website. This help goes into a web-based product, and we're using the automated product build to generate the webhelp, so there's no easy way for me to manually insert a favicon in the help root folder even as a final step.

Re: Changing glossary font...
Very helpful reply. On a related topic, I have a few glossary entries which I've linked to topics rather than defining them in the glossary file. In Webhelp, those links retain the old glossary font and don't seem to be affected by the regular glossary pseudo classes. Do you know how to change the ...

Re: Changing icon beside caption for output window tab
Good site. I might be reading it wrong, but it looks as though I would need to put the favicon in the root directory of my webhelp output. This directory is blown away every time I regen my Flare project. Is there a way to cause the icon persist in the generated output?

Changing icon beside caption for output window tab
I'd like to put my company's favicon beside the caption displayed on the browser tab. I know how to change the caption itself in the skin, but I can't seem to find instructions to change the icon. Right now, the default IE or Firefox favicon is displayed.

TOC entry pre-expanded?
I have a project with two modules. In the Webhelp TOC, I would like to have topics for each module under a separate main entry so that it's clear which topics belong with which module. By default the TOC now looks like it has only two entries. Is there any way to have the help display the TOC with ...

Re: Formatting in Word Output
Using the negative margin appears to go into Word okay, but the alignment for the heading varies based on the length of the autonumber (not the case when using the mc-auto-number-offset). Also, if the heading wraps, the text goes under the number rather than under the text on the first line. And ...

Re: Formatting in Word Output
I'm using the mc-auto-number-offset with the mc-auto-number-position: outside-head.
You're probably right that Word isn't recognizing this. Does anyone know of another way of getting this type of formatting that Word could use?
