Problem formatting notes
We have several note styles formatted, but I just noticed a problem with the alignment of the note wording used in the span style. My goal is to have it appear above the paragraph. I tried formatting them similar to this post http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11089 , but then the ...

Re: Flare 7, Analyzer 4 and the All-new MadCap Contributor
I have to give MadCap praises here! They were able to track it down before the people here! I'm installing now. It's going to be a good weekend!

Re: Flare 7, Analyzer 4 and the All-new MadCap Contributor
How long does it usually take to get this email? We have one Platinum plan and nine Bronze plans. I need to get testing this upgrade and am chomping at the bit (can you see me from here?). Our purchases says he hasn't received it yet, so I'm just a little anxious here.

Re: How to put a table inside a div
I found a temporary work around for this. If I add an empty paragraph before the table and select it and the table, I can put them in the div.

How to put a table inside a div
I'm trying to figure out how to do this without going to the code view. In Flare 6.1, when I select a table using the block tag, it appears to be selecting each of the (td) cells and not the actual table. When I select a table I don't have an option to "group" it into a div, pressing TAB does ...

Re: Problem with multi-level numbering
Thank you for explaining that. All I had to do was think back to my Frame days! As soon as I saw your post I realized I should have known this. I'll give this a shot and am excited to see it work!

Re: Problem with multi-level numbering
FYI - I tried changing this in code view and Flare resets it anyway. Plus we don't want our authors to go into code view if we can avoid it.

Problem with multi-level numbering
I originally designed our numbering to use ordered and unordered lists, but we have experienced major usability issues doing this because we use a lot of paragraphs, images, and different kinds of notes. So, I designed auto-numbering paragraph styles in an attempt to lessen the usability issues we ...

Re: Changing default folder for profiles and palettes?
Has there been an update to this? I'd like to be able to copy our profiles or have a central location where our writers can get them from, but can't figure out where they are stored.

Question about Include/Exclude Files in Project Import Edito
I set up a master or global project that we are linking all of our other projects to. This master project contains style sheets, page layouts, variables, snippets, etc. I've created a template project that contains all of this linking information. I'm at the point where I need to update the Include ...

Re: Two table caption styles in addition to print and help
I'm going through right now trying to get just one table style working and have been pulling my hair out trying to figure some of this out. I have discovered that what your primary target is set to matters. I've been focusing on PDF and HTML Help. When the primary target is set to HTML Help and I ...

Thanks Lisa. I gave it a try and it didn't work. I guess I just like to push the boundaries and figure out where the limitations are. Not a big deal. We should go that deep anyway!

H7 and H8 starting on next page and shouldn't
I really hope there is something I am overlooking. H7 and H8 are starting on the next page in both Word and PDF and they shouldn't be. In the print style sheet (which is assigned to both targets), there is NO definition to have a page break before. Also, in the TOC they are not set to start a new ...

Re: mini-toc proxy not working as expected in Word output
Maybe it's because I have been writing topic oriented content for too long, but it took me a while to see what you're saying. Do you use other heading levels inside your topics too? One way I get around this is to use a Subheading for headings that I don't want to appear in TOCs. But, this is ...

Re: Continuing heading after manual page break (PDF)
Maybe I used the wrong terminology for manual page break. I have chapters using heading one, set in the TOC editor like you described as new Chapter starting on the first page. I also have Heading 2 set to page break before. However, I am unable to get it to not make a page break before certain ...

Continuing heading after manual page break (PDF)
I'm working on a very basic page layout for our inside pages. Chapters start on the first page and all the rest of the pages use Normal. In the normal header I've defined the left portion as [Heading Level1] so the chapter number/title appears in the headers.

Re: Different formatting for "Chapter" and autonumber
By the way, you can indeed get the break to be automatic between the chapter number and the title by setting the span class, ChapNum, to Display: Block.

Okay, there's nothing like trial by fire and hoping we can remember all this information. Anyway, just thought I'd post that I noticed something. When you go into your topic and right-click the mini-TOC proxy, make sure there is a style selected there. If you don't have any options, create one in ...

Re: mini-toc proxy not working as expected in Word output
I'm getting inconsistent results in mine. I'm testing for an import workflow and am able to get it to work for the first chapter, only one entry of at least four in the second chapter and looks like I got the last chapter to finally work.

Importing Lists from Word
I've been reading through the forums looking for an ideal import workflow for our lists. I noticed a few posts about this issue (from FM or Word) and was wondering if there have been any changes? What about the ability to map to lists when importing from Word? I'm struggling with this now trying to ...
