Re: Search highlighting not consistent
I'm still on 6. I've also found that if you refresh the search, sometimes it will work. So do a search, results display but no highlighting at all, search for something else, then come back and search again for the first thing and this time it's highlighted. To me, if Flare allows a search to be eit...

Search highlighting not consistent
Now our WebHelp Plus is up and running I'm getting some user feedback about Search. The Search function itself works well, but the highlighting of results is inconsistent. As an example we were searching for the words fees raised . Search located the correct results and when we view the applicable t...

Re: Printing from a webhelp topic
Thats basically how I decided to run it. The online view is available if you just want to browse and scroll through the info. You can print the current page if you like (allowing for the different format - but only if you really need some hard copy of the selected topic) or you can click on the PDF ...

Re: One Project: Two Versions, Two Sign-ons?
That's exactly what we've done here. We have three output versions and our portal determines which version the user gets based on logon. In some cases parts of topics are different and in other cases whole sections of the Online Help differ. It's a bit of a mission to control but it's not difficult,...

Re: Topics not in Content Found in Search
Thanks Lisa, yes the indexing is usually the source of all the Search problems. I can recall doing that once before when I had issues getting Search to work at all. I'll check if re-starting IIS fixes the problem.

Topics not in Content Found in Search
Hi there, The Search function on my WebHelp Plus works spectacularly well, to the point in fact that it's finding stuff that's not even in the project. Or to be more correct, was in the project but now is no longer. I had some topics that ended up being duplicated in an Import process. They have a s...

Re: PDFs Not Appearing in Search
Obvious when I thought about it. The ifilter wasn't installed on the web server. I made sure I did it for my local machine, and I gave the list of things to make and do to the developer responsible for the web server, and then like an idiot I simply trusted that they had done all the tasks. So all f...

Next Search Result Selection
Now my WebHelp Plus output is published and working fine I'm looking at some user feedback tweaks. One question that came up is the ability to navigate through the search results more easily. I have added Next Topic/Previous Topic buttons on each page but of course these allow the user to click from...

PDFs Not Appearing in Search
When I publish my WebHelp Plus to my local machine, Word documents and PDF documents that are stored in the Content folder don't display in Search until after the IIS has finished indexing. Once it's done everything works fine. Now we have the WebHelp published to a web server, I've found that Word ...

Re: Recapture Doesn't Capture Mouse Cursor
Although to be fair I did just check and it doesn't incude the mouse cursor, which was your original problem. I was looking at it more from the dropdown lists displaying or hyperlinks showing as selected. In which case, ignore me and go with what everyone else says

Works for me. I have the timer set by default. Select "restore last capture region" and the timer works every time.

Re: Recapture Doesn't Capture Mouse Cursor
Not sure if this will help but you can go Tools > Options > Capture and select to include the mouse cursor and more importantly set a delay for the capture so that you have time to open any dropdowns and position the cursor ready for the picture to be taken.

Re: Subscribing to threads
I'm with you. I never noticed it before either and always thought there should be an option there somewhere. I guess what happens is I scroll down and as soon as I see the 'Post Reply' part I don't scroll any further. I wonder how many other parts of Flare there are that I really need but didn't kno...

Re: Skin not displaying in output
Thanks for that. Its being published to a web server but I'm testing it locally. I have got MOTW set on all three and on local viewing I don't get the yellow warning bar. My web developer is having another look at the directory that we're using. Something peculiar is happening and I'm willing to bet...

Skin not displaying in output
I have three Online Help outputs generated from the same project. One has everything in it and the other two have a bit less. When all three are published, one of the outputs displays the skin as expected (the toolbar, icons and image all appear correctly) but the other two have a blank toolbar with...

Re: Webhelp Plus Search Results Display
Nope, same one. As I said I can get the same result if I select the default start file and open the Webhelp directly from inside the MCPreview folder instead of going through either 'View Output' or the localhost option. It's not a biggie, I'm just curious as to why that one thing should be differen...

Webhelp Plus Search Results Display
I seem to have a different display of my WebHelp search results on the published version versus the generated version. My generated version has all of the results appearing on one line each, and if the text is too long it simply runs off the side of the pane. But my published version actually wraps ...

Re: Change destination of Home button
I knew I'd find it the minute I posted a question. It's the On-Click part of Type under the Home part of the Toolbar. The Flare Help includes the hyperlink format. Without fully reading the Help I didn't realise that On-Click allows a hyperlink to be added. Typical.

Change destination of Home button
My WebHelp is actually part of an existing portal. What I'd like to do is change the 'Home' button to point to the portal homepage rather than the first page of my WebHelp. Is that possible? I've had a look at the Web skins but nothing there leaps out at me. Is there somewhere I can add a hyperlink ...

WebHelp Plus Web Service Search not Working
Finally got the Webhelp Plus output to our web server. Ran into all the same problems that I had on my local machine getting first the TOC to appear and then the search functionality to work. Resolved those by using the WebHelp Plus FAQs and a few other forum posts. The Search function still returns...

Re: Search across manuals
That's essentially what I've ended up doing. I have 11 manuals and a knowledgebase as well as Word and PDF docs that I needed included in the search. I tried merging at runtime but that just created more problems. Final solution was to import all of the other content into the main project using glob...

Re: Search doesn't include all content
Thanks Dave, yes you can set up an external search folder but not sure if it's available in WebHelp. I'll check that though. It seems that WebHelp works perfectly, it just doesn't have search capability on non-xhtml (unless the folder thing works), and WebHelp plus works okay for searching (although...

Re: Search doesn't include all content
I guess you might be right. May have to go with WebHelp Plus again. I think the search filter problem might be sorted because all the content is in one project now instead of merged as it was before. So I need to have all the non-xhtml in the Content if I want to link to it properly (I've tried link...

Search doesn't include all content
I seem to have the opposite problem to most other posters about Search. My compiled project doesn't find everything in my Content. Most people get too many results. I have imported all my other project manuals into one main WebHelp. I also copied into the Content a bunch of Word and PDF files that I...

Re: PDF Properties in Non-xhtml Searches
Not sure what you're referring to by the link properties. As these are documents that are plonked in to the Autosearch folder there is no link as such. They're just available to be included in searches. Likewise they're not in the TOC at all. For all intents they don't exist in the WebHelp to the us...
