The developers where I work have written some ASPX code which forces people to log in before they can see our manuals. I'm not sure how it works but all I need to do is rename default.htm to default.aspx when I publish.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Re: Do newer versions of Flare support high resolution monitors
Thanks for that. Apparently newer versions of Flare do support high resolution monitors and I will probably upgrade in the not too distant future. However, if anyone else is having this issue, I was able to get a reasonable result by setting my screen to 100% and then trying the available resolution...

Do newer versions of Flare support high resolution monitors
Hi all, I have just got a beaut new 32" high resolution monitor. When I set the screen to display at 200%, all my programs look great...except for Flare which is unusable at that resolution. I am currently using Flare 11 - I know it's old but it does the job. My question is, if I upgraded my ve...

Re: Is Flare 2022 a bit slow?
I'm not using Flare 2022 although I did download a trial version for a while. I decided it didn't offer me much more than what I've already got with Flare 11. However, I did have an issue with Flare running really slowly. Someone on here suggested checking my virus scanner settings and making sure t...

Re: Speed issues - should I upgrade
Thanks again, Psider. Looks like it was the anti virus settings causing the main issue. Once I excluded my Flare project directories, the speed of Flare has gone back to an acceptable level. However, it's also a good opportunity to upgrade my 5 year old laptop and update to a newer version of Flare....

Re: Speed issues - should I upgrade
Thanks, doloremipsum. I have looked at the task manager and it seems ok but I am not technical so I probably should get someone from our tech team to look at it. I'm pretty certain I haven't added any large tables recently. It's good to see that your project is also large. Hopefully my test of the n...

Re: Speed issues - should I upgrade
Thanks Dave. You're right, I must have updated to Flare 11 in 2015. I don't really think anything has changed other than the project going over 1GB. I haven't tried the project on other PCs as I only have the one but it's a really good idea to download a trial of the latest version for testing. Than...

Thanks, Rob. No, just working on my local drive. And I don't use any source control either; I back up manually.

Speed issues - should I upgrade
Hi all, I have been working in Flare 11 since 2010. I know - it's old! But it's been doing what I needed it to do up until recently, if a little slow at times. Now the bigger of my two projects has grown to around 29,000 files. When I publish, it is 1.1 GB. My Images folder has around 16,000 images ...

Re: Bookmark issues - blank " " and no periods
I've found that I get blank " " cross references when the heading is inside a snippet. My solution was not to include headings in snippets.

Re: Capturing a window w/ highlighted menu item
This is outside of Flare but I just do a Print Screen using my keyboard, paste it into Paint and crop. The Windows Snip tool also has a Delay feature that you can use.

Re: Custom ToC Icon HTML 5 skin
I always document everything I do because I know I'll forget it otherwise! I set up a custom TOC icon in an older version of Flare and am now using v11. Not sure if this is what you're after but I'll include because it might help. 1. In Flare’s Project Organiser, select the Skins folder. 2. Open the...

Re: lock table widths?
If you use table styles, you can set a width on the columns. I'm not certain whether it actually locks the columns though.

I just tried creating a new project based on an existing project (File | New Project then select your existing project) and it copies all the content over. Just give it a new name.

Re: Create snippets for an entire topic
This happens to me when I have a topic that contains tables. I can only select the paragraphs, not the tables. What I usually do is create the snippet using one or two paragraphs, open it and then paste the rest of the topic content into it.

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output
I've been looking for the section in the Flare manuals about this because I know I found it when I had the same problem. In my case, I can have two headings in one topic. I want them both to appear in the TOC. However, the first heading doesn't have any text under it so I don't want it in a topic on...

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output
I think you need to specifically exclude the Online content from your PDF output, i.e. your PDF condition needs to Exclude Online topics.

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output
Sorry Christina but you need to do what I suggested above. You need to create a condition that excludes the second TOC link to the topic for print only. What happens is Flare goes through the TOC and because you have linked two entries to the same topic, it calls that topic twice. If you set up the ...

Re: Table Headings Color in PDF Output
Oh dear! I think you can copy a stylesheet into your project from one of the templates supplied with Flare but you'd then need to go right through your document(s) and apply the appropriate style to each paragraph. It's the recommended method but if everything else in your document is working except...

Re: Table Headings Color in PDF Output
Can you find the style if you go to Project > Master Stylesheet? Change the Medium to Print and you should be able to change the colour on the Font...if you can find the style.
Other stylesheets are available in the Content Explorer > Resources folder.
