Re: Why go with Flare over Robohelp?
I haven't had to use tech support for RH (haven't used the product for several years, actually) but I can certainly vouch for the tech support from Madcap. Even with Bronze support I had really full help from Alvaro who called me on my phone and remoted in to my machine so he could drive and let me ...

Re: Why go with Flare over Robohelp?
Unfortunately, I'm a Technical Writer and hated the two programming classes I took in college.
Interesting. I'm a technical writer who taught himself programming along the way. I enjoyed it. Programming is about languages, really. Knowing a bit about computers and programming is handy when I'm ...

Re: Why go with Flare over Robohelp?
One thing I can say about RH is their customer service was exceptional. I used it for over ten years. At a new job, I was forced to switch to Flare. The person writing a comparison of the two packages wrote a totally inaccurate comparison. When I was hired, I knew all the negatives on RH were not ...

Re: Webhelp - can only edit topics in Text Editor - help!
I truly hoped that this issue was caused by my inexperience with Flare, but now I'm not so sure. In response to your questions:
Yes, I'm attempting to edit files in Content Explorer.
I was very familiar with Source Control from when i worked with RoboHelp, but I'm not using anything with this ...

Re: Webhelp - can only edit topics in Text Editor - help!
I built the project myself on my laptop. Since I am able to edit in html and text, the permissions must be open. It doesn't make any sense to me and I've followed the directions on the style sheets but my style window is still empty. The localized buttons are grayed out as well.

Re: Webhelp - can only edit topics in Text Editor - help!
I do see the WYSIWYG as my default, but I cannot edit it. When I open the style window or localization window, etc. - I'm still unable to edit because nothing appears in those windows.
When I double-click the topic, it opens as it should. Just uneditable.
The topics are not locked.
I appreciate ...

Webhelp - can only edit topics in Text Editor - help!
I'm new at Flare after using RoboHelp for many years. I have 50 topics built in already and have done lots of other things like links, browse sequences, etc.
However, the biggest headache is that I can only edit my topics in Text Editor, but I need WYSIWYG! Any suggestions would be greatly ...
