Re: Review / Track changes problems

Neither of those things make a difference. It still remains on for that topics unless i turn it off in that topic and save.
I think that i will raise this as a support ticket.

Re: Review / Track changes problems

Actually now that i experiment a bit more the track changes button does seem to work (although backward from my intuitive point of view)
But it seems to be set per topic, and is active for all topics in all my projects, even though i have never explicitly set it so.
If i open a topic, unset it and ...

Review / Track changes problems

So i have to say that this function is now driving me crazy, and i'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to definitively turn this feature off.

Let me explain. I've been a Flare user for about 3 years, and for most of that time i'd never turned the 'Track Changes' function on ...

Re: Contributor VERY SLOW with SharePoint?

I've had slowness issue with Flare and Sharepoint for about 2 years. I have posted this as a bug, and it has yet to be fixed.
In my case it was in using a sharepoint location as a publshing destination, it would take literally hours to publish. I viewed network activity and there was lots of ...

Copying tables from FM to Flare

I've done a bit of searching but found no definitive answer to this.
I have some tables in a FM document, hundreds of rows long. I can find no way of making a copy/paste into a flare table. i.e. the resulting paste puts all of the cells into one cell.
I've tried going via excel, but the result is ...

Ok, yes worked it out for myself. Put [%=VariableSet.VariableName%] into the TOC title and topic property title

That seems to work, thank you very much Lisa ;)

Re: Conditional root title?

ahh thats interesting, I never knew that the target variables overrode if used, i thought they were another way to edit the common variables.
In fact in other places where i've needed to make conditional text, i've made snippets containing conditionally flagged variables.

Anyhoo...
The bit i dont ...

Conditional root title?

I have a project that builds several HTML help outputs.
At the moment the root topic is called 'Welcome', which appears in the index and breadcrumbs line etc
What i would really like is that this title is the title is conditional on the output target.
I don't see any neat way of doing this.
(Other ...

Re: Catapult log when publishing

The point of this file is that it stays in place. Unless someone explicitly browses to that file it is 'invisible'.

But its not invisible!
As mentioned above in my case it's very visible in our company Sharepoint folders.
For those of us that dont need this feature, we should be able to disable ...

Re: Catapult log when publishing

Hi Thanks for the suggestion Leon, but i dont think that helps me.
I'm not publishing webhelp to a server, but rather use the publish fucntion to upload .pdf and .chm files to our company sharepoint folders.
In those locations the extra catapult.zip is very obvious & unwanted.

Re: SharePoint Sync......very very slow.

Now i have multiple projects, each with 3/4 conditional ouput builds, each of those having 2/3 publish locations. Thats 100+ files to publish. If i can do it with a batch target publish that makes it workable.
This worked fine for network locations, but we have also recently been required to ...

Re: Catapult log when publishing

+1 on this issue.
I really need a way to disable the creation of these files.

It defeats a lot of the advantage of the automated publishing with a single click, by having to go around to multiple locations and delete this file.
(I have 10 projects, each with 4/5 conditional outputs, each with 2/3 ...

Custom system variables?

Hi,

I would like to create some custom 'system variables' e.g i need the current month in 'March' format and current year alone '2012'.
But i dont see any way to define new system variables, or define new user variables using system varables.
Any ideas?

Re: Layout not applying in editor

Well that doesnt quite add up..

In my TOC where the front pages show correctly, which is the Master target, the default page layout is the 'body' layout which is used in all of the doc except the front pages. In that TOC the front pages entry in the TOC has a chapter breaks set in the TOC item ...

Re: Layout not applying in editor

To start with, you can set a Master Page Layout in both the Project Properties and the Target Properties . If you have it set in both places, the target will take priority.
(There is no page layout setting in Topic Properties , so I'm not sure what you mean there.)
If you've set a master page ...

Layout not applying in editor

I have an infuriating problem/bug.
I have 2 page layouts, one for 'front pages' and one for 'body' of the document. I have used these both in many previous documents.
Now i am creating a new target in an existing project, with a new TOC. I have made a copy of my existing 'front pages' topic, and ...

I've just had the same problem, which caused some head-scratching - until i realised that a few of the source files had been renamned without the .htm suffix.
Once corrected its fine again

I don't think a table will work in this case as i want the text to wrap around the image. But without that extra second line space.

Re: default page layout not being applied

What does your TOC say?
how do you mean, there are no page layout settings in the TOC properties. Do you mean each topic property in the TOC?

it will carry on assuming this is the page layout for all subsequent chapters.
thats just it - its not doing that. Its always reverting back to 'front ...
