Re: Webhelp Plus: "Cryptic" characters in javascript

Just tested it. We get them as soon as we create the build.

Webhelp Plus: "Cryptic" characters in javascript

I have a problem with our generated webhelp plus output. On of our customers wants to upload it in their information portal, which checks every file for its correct syntax. They say there are cryptical characters in the javascript, and because of that the system denies the import.

This error occurs ...

Re: Force Reload of TOC after publishing new content

just adding this tag to the masterpage didn't help.

Is there any workaround for the not-reloading problem? (tbh it is getting on my nerves to say 50 people in our company to clear their cache every 3 days...)

Publishing takes longer with comments?

I tried several times now, but it seems like if i enable comments every time i publish the documentation everything is uploaded, not only the changes i made. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

edit: wrong subforum, sorry

Deleting comments

Is there a way to delete comments, not just to hide them? we made several testcomments and i would like to clean the project before it goes live. If hiding is the only option then i've gotta live with that.

Re: Madcap uploading unchanged articles

I just tested two things:

I ran the whole publishing. After it finished, i republished again and it didn't upload anything, and was finished after a few seconds. Then i got to my contentfolder, changed 1 line in 1 artcile, built again (every article was generated) - now it uploads everything again ...

Re: Madcap uploading unchanged articles

There are no timestamps. It's normal behaviour that all (even there are no changes) articles are generated in the build process?!

Madcap uploading unchanged articles

I got a webhelp project thats published on a external server. For several months i could publish and just the files that changed were uploaded. But since last week (i created another destination for our mobilehelp output - don't know if thats an coincidence) every time i publish it, EVERY article is ...

Re: Restricting search results

I was thinking in the wrong direction. I was trying to accomplish this via excluding from toc and excluding from search. Too early in the morning -.-

Nevermind, only this stupid .NET error remains, but i fear i'll have to search for it the rest of the day.

Vielen Dank in den hohen Norden ;)

Re: Restricting search results

Another example is our company: We got several customer-specific outputs. So there 95% of the articles are the same for each customer output. But the other 5% are specific for each customer. I wont open a projekt for every customer. So for example i got company A and B. Article A is just for company ...

Re: Using the TOC for "external" links

one project with 30 seperate targets. My intention is that i have core articles that are more often updated than customer specific articles. So i have 30 targets. One for each customer. If i want to change something on a core-article i shouldn't have to rebuild all 30 targets. So my idea was to ...

Re: General Question

To specifiy my question: is it server-server communication? so would it be enough to install the server into an intern VM and just open the necessary ports?

Also: when was v.3 published? is there are new version coming soon?

General Question

Before ordering the feedback server i asked our system admin if we had the requirements. He agreed but asked me if the server has to communicate with the internet or if its enough to communicate in our intranet. Our documentation should be seen anywhere in the internet.

Using the TOC for "external" links

Hi there, hopefully you can understand my problem.

We have multiple Customers who need their own documentation. The problem is: we have a bunch of articels (about 500) and about 30 customers. So if i would edit one article thats the same for all customers i would have to republish for all 30 ...

SQL2005 - we tested the tcp/ip for remote connections via telnet, and everything worked, so it can't be because of that.

Problem creating SQL-Database

Hi there

Our company just bought the complete bundle of madcap-software, and when i was trying to initiate the database i get a lot of strange errors. I try to connect on a databaseserver, but i always get the message that lingo cannot connect to the database. If i use telnet on the same OS, it's ...
