I make sure I tick the "Use standard list style type" checkbox in the Advanced Options tab. That seems to help with clean lists.
Also, I make sure I select the Flare style in the "Map to" dropdown in the Styles. It's easy to miss, but the top half is Flare and the bottom half is Word and they are ...

Re: No PDF bookmarks with paragraph headings
I think Flare uses headings to generate the bookmarks automatically.
So I suppose you could specify the appropriate mc-heading-level for each of the p headings you need. Although I think that would affect your TOC, if you have one in the pdf, which you might not want.

I think I saw MadCap suggested using XML output instead. I suppose then you could use a post-build script to run XSLT to convert the XML to dita output?

Re: Text outside of paragraph tags
It's pretty easy to do in Flare if you start with simple (not paragraph) lists.
You start with a simple list like so:
<ul>
<li>One</li>
<li>Ttwo</li>
<li>Three</li>
</ul>
Then you want to enter a paragraph under Item two, so you press Enter to create a new list item, then press Tab to nest ...

Re: Synchronize navigation elements with TOC entries not working as I expect
Are you saying the breadcrumbs and mini-toc are not synchronising? Or do you mean that you are Topic B and want to link to the third occurrence of Topic A?
If it's the second option, I don't believe that's how the feature works. I think it's only for the breadcrumbs and mini-toc: https://help ...

I can't find anything that says it's not allowed, and the following example validated to both HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0 using the W3C validator.

I'm not entirely certain, but if you've done your research on what is more/less eco friendly, consider whether the following HTML5 target settings might be useful:

Re: Conditions appearing in built help
I should also note that if your target has a condition expression to exclude the tag, then the tag (and content) obviously won't be in the output. It only remains in if you tag the content, but don't exclude the tag in the condition expression.

My quick test with Comic Sans MS worked.
The other thing is, are you using the name you defined in your @font-face definition? If you haven't configured that name, then it won't work.

I don't think there are any settings to control how Flare auto-creates bookmarks. I think it would be a nice option to have though, so do consider submitting a feature request.

Oh, nevermind, the toc entry class is not only just for tripane, it's also only the icons.
So let us know more about what you're trying to achieve and we can see if we can think of anything.

Re: Linking Heading and TOC Style
If you're using a HTML5 Tripane skin you can create a Toc Entry class in the skin and then apply that class to the specific entry in your TOC. But that functionality isn't available in Side Nav or Top Nav as far as I'm aware.
Otherwise, more information about what your trying to achieve in the ...

While I don't use grid, I think it'll be fine in the output and you can ignore the error in Flare.
You might like to look at this thread where someone has posted a possible temporary workaround for the same error for flex. (And suggestions for bugging (sorry :) ) Madcap about it.)

You'll need to contact MadCap Support to see if you get that info.
