Re: Using multiple Topic TOCs

Hi,

both are not set for all DIV's.

I think the effect I see is generated because inside the DIV I use only dropdowns. The dropdown is either small, so it is not seen as text floating around the other DIV, or in case it is wide, then it jumps underneath the DIV instead of filling up the available ...

Re: Show a topic page without a sidebar menu? HTML5 Top Nav

Hi,

This is not directly an answer to your question, but the generated menu is using the TOC.
If you do not insert any topic in the used TOC then you will not get a menu, so also no menu in the sidebar.

I use this to create a website that is inserted in another website which uses a TOC so it shows ...

Re: Using multiple Topic TOCs

Hi,

Some test results and a clarification:

clarification: The inserted proxy is a menu proxy. In this proxy it is possible to select a TOC. So I created several small TOC's and can indeed select one of them in the menu proxy. However, this menu proxy is never shown in the topic (nor in design nor ...

Hi,

Thanks for your replies.

I was indeed testing in 2017 r2. I will retry with 2017 r1.

For as far as the mini-toc, it is not intended to show active hyperlinks to jump to a topic or a to jump to a bookmark on the same page. This mini-toc is composed of not-linked topic of which the label is ...

Using multiple Topic TOCs

Hi,

For HTML5 output:

This is a bit of a story and I realize that. I have been puzzling for several months now and cannot find a solution so that is why I decided to post this and maybe someone has a clue to help me out.

I want to use a specific TOC showing the selected option(s) a user clicked ...

Re: Best Practice on Using Variables with Differing Articles

Hi,

can you define 2 variables, one including the vowel and one without?
You could also copy the sentence so it exists twice and then use a condition to exclude the one that would give the incorrect text.

Re: How to add a disclaimer/note on last page only?

Hi,

This requires the next structure: (best seen in text Editor mode):

<body>
<div class="rell">
<h1>heading 1 of topic</h1>
<p>.... whatever your topic contains ...</p>

Re: IE11 and Edge responsive layout table problem

Hi,

From this screenshot I see that in column "Multiple" there seems to be a merged cell for record 2 and record 3.
Is this correct?
Can you create this table without this merged cell, if so, and see if this helps?

Re: IE11 and Edge responsive layout table problem

Hi,

Not sure how your table was created but when using a tablestyle.css I usually get this:

<table style="width: 100%;mc-table-style: url('../../Resources/TableStyles/WebHelp_TableStyle.css');border-left-style: solid;border-left-width: 1px;border-left-color: #595959;border-right-style: solid ...

Re: Published output diff case than build output

Hi,

Once had the same issue and renamed by using another character to solve.

For example: When entered "topic" and saved, and renaming to "Topic" did not give the correct result, I first renamed to "Xopic" and saved and then renamed again to "Topic".
This was enough change to get the character ...

Re: Show total number of pages

Hi,

Flare has a high / steep learning curve.

About the frames I mentioned:
I assumed (and that can be dangerous) that you use a pagelayout for the pages in your document.
The pagelayouts are stored in the Content folder\ Resources \ PageLayouts - there is Default pagelayout.
If you open that one ...

Re: Show total number of pages

Hi,

You could also add an additional header frame on the page in the page layout used for the frontpage.
The xhtml part is added when adding content to a frame in a page of the page layout.
So I guess it only works inside frames

Hi,

Just to try and see it work:

I added a footer on the first page of the pagelayout and inside that footer I inserted the variable. This works:

On the page layout used for the frontpage:

and the result in the output:

It seems the variable expects ...

Hi,

I once tried this to identify variables and discovered it did not work for font styles.
So I tried a background-color and that worked.
I now use a stylesheet with a section like this:

span.WebsiteVariableSetProductAndVersion
{
background-color: aqua;
}
span.WebsiteVariableSetProductName ...

Re: page layouts and page types issues

Hi,

As far as I have been using the same pagelayout in flare 8,9,10,11,12, seen no errors.

I have created a page layout with 4 page types inside. It contains a "T"itle, an "E"mpty page (used for backside of frontpage and this layout contains only a footer for a few short lines of text), a "R"ight ...

in this code.

display: inline-block; overrules display: block; .

Re: Show total number of pages

Hi,

The steps I usually do for the frontpage are:
I create a frontpage topic and add it as first in the TOC. My second topic in the TOC only contains a tocProxy and next are the topics,
I create a pagelayout in which I add a footer in which the variable PageCount is added.
In the TOC, I right ...

and for a h2
{ ...
mc-auto-number-format: 'GH:{n}.{n+} ';

Re: Show total number of pages

Hi,

For output = PDF you could use a PageLayout.
Add a footer and position it at the correct location on the page.
Press F2 to go to edit mode
Enter some text like, for example:

Number of pages =

In the menu INSERT, select VARIABLE,
In VARIABLE SETS, select SYSTEM
Select PageCount and click OK ...

Re: Horizontal spacing of drop down icon issue

Hi,

I have a question for you:
Why is there a <p class="dropdownNOindent"> needed?
I use dropdowns throughout complete documents and never have to add a line of code like that.

If you remove it, does that help?

Hi,

The language is specified at project level. It can be overruled at the target level, if needed.
There is no need to add this to the <HTML>-tag manually.
When a build is done and opened the webpage, right-click and select View Source.

Re: prevent line breaks at hyphens

Hi,

No, that does not exist as far as I know. However, there is a "workaround", depending on the used flare version.

If you use flare 9 it will work as expected. But in higher versions of flare it will not work.

The reason is the PRE-tag bug. According to MadCap, in flare version 9 it was ...
