What is intended by conditioning files in content view?

Hi,

I am experimenting to create a page layout that contains images which should be conditioned for several targets, but that seems not possible.
In doing so, I noticed there can be selected files in the content view, right-clicked and opened a properties dialog.
In this properties dialog the ...

Re: PageLayout Problems

Hi,

Maybe this can help:
In the TOC, select the first topic (not the frontpage) and open its properties and set the page layout and select that layout created for topic pages.

Re: Misbehaving page break when table nested in list item

Hi,

I have done some tests using a clean new project. The generated files with and without the stylesheet declaration give the same results. Validation with W3C gives no errors.
This indicated that this is default behavior, which is indeed strange.

A solution for this is, to put the OL inside a ...

Use a scalable backgrond img in li, div, or other tag?

Hi,

(using Flare 9, 10 and/or 11):

I am trying to create a list item using a custom image as bullet (a *.png). This might also be a div instead or even another tag, if it works.

Using the style options as in:
http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_background-size.asp
where it works perfect, I ...

Re: PageBreak if Content is not on one page

Hi,

Put your table inside a <div> tag
Create a style in the stylesheet div.nopagebreak

div.NoPageBreak
{
page-break-inside: avoid;
}

Apply this on the div in the topic.

Re: Heading level styles

Hi,

Not sure if this also holds for Word output, because for Word there is an option to match heading levels with Word styles.
What I have working for PDF is:
- Use the option to generate TOC based on TOC depth for heading levels
- define the heading levels for h1, h2, h3. If created a class ...

Re: How to set pagelayout used in Preview window?

Hi,

Thanks four your reply.

I think you are right that the preview uses what is defined in target and TOC. Inside the topics in the TOC I have only defined a pagelayout for topics at the root level, so heading level 1, for the Chapters. All topics inside a chapter have nothing defined, meaning if ...

Already tried that but it did not work.

How to set pagelayout used in Preview window?

Hi,

Re: Applying condition tags within paragraphs - best practic

Hi,

It is possible to use condition tags for every character if you want to.
However,
- It becomes very difficult to edit older text unless you can remember exactly why you used one or more condition tags. You will end up spending a lot of time just to edit one word that could have been edited in ...

Thanks for the reply.

The mc-auto-number-position is set to "outside-head".

The used pagelayout has a body that is set to 200px to the right of the left-border.
The heading levels start at the left-side of this body.

How to right-align autonumbers in heading levels?

Hi,

What attribute or property in the stylesheet must be used to right-align the autonumbering for the heading levels?
AlignmentHeading.jpg
The distance between the chapter numbers and the title must be the same for all heading levels used (h1,h2,h3)

Re: BUG reported: Pre tag not working anymore

Hi,

You are right and that is exactly the reason why the PRE-tag is used.

The PRE-tag in Flare 10 and Flare 11 causes the XML to break when the lines in the xml are spanning multiple lines in the documentation (pdf), not only for white-spaces but also for each other character not within [A..Z,a..z ...

Re: BUG reported: Pre tag not working anymore

Hi,

Did some tests in MadCap Flare 11 and indeed the bug is still present.

Found Workaround: it is possible to replace each white-space by a non-breaking space and each hyphen by a non-breaking hyphen using the Insert Character... menu.
This will generate the correct output in PDF.

How to use <figure> and <figcaption>?

Hi,

(Using Flare 10.2.2. writing PDF output)
In HTML5 the tags <figure> and <figcaption> are available.
In the stylesteet there are classes defined to style these tags.

example usage:

<figure>
<img src="../Images/img_10.png" />
<figure>Fig 10: some figure text.</figure>
</figure>

It is even ...
