Ah. I didn't have any complex selectors in use in my stylesheet and it displays in Flare and online just fine, but I added them for the print medium and it prints correctly now.

I have a WebHelp output with some nested lists with the levels as numbers, bullets, then circles. When I preview the topic in Flare it displays correctly. I printed the topic from the preview so I could see it on paper as that just works better for seeing things sometimes and it printed as all ...

Is there anything wrong with having more than one header file? fyi: Flare's Index pane (View > Index window) is a useful place for tweaking keywords: names, plurals, cases, etc. When you rename keywords in the Index window, Flare automatically updates the assigned topics. Much faster than finding and updating keywords in each topic.

There are things like balance and Balance which Flare counts as separate and words with or without an S, etc though not in too many places that I've seen. I wonder if any of it is from being imported from RoboHelp? I'm not ...

I've noticed that a few topics in my index have a popup associated with them. Some of these index entries have second-level keywords which don't necessarily match what is in the popup. What is the difference? Where do the popups come from?

I use Flare 7.2.

You are saying that when you publish, the TOC entry is still there, even though there is a condition in the TOC entry that is supposed to be excluded in a given output?
That sounds like a bug. Do you have a support contract with MadCap? If so, open an e-mail case. If not, here is the bug report ...

Could you post the code from one of your topics of a paragraph that contains a variable that isn't showing up in the output?

Also, if you create a new online output target (don't modify it) and build it, are the variables still missing?

Is the MyVariableSet.flvar file located in your project's Project\VariableSets folder?

Do you have more than one variable set? Did you at any time rename the variable set? If so, did you double-check in the WebHelp target that it's pointing to the correct variable set? Since you can also override the variable's value in the target, double-check that you didn't inadvertently delete ...

I've found that my variables are showing when I either Build Primary or View Primary and click the button to View Output in Flare I see my variables, but when I publish to WebHelp and view it, they aren't always there. There are no condition tags applied to any variables. Any ideas?
