Playing with Mediums in Framemaker

Does anyone mess around with styles in Framemaker? I wanted to create different styles based on an existing CSS. I imported the CSS, but now I would like to use different styles in different mediums. Anyone know the functions in Dreamweaver I can use to perform this action?

My Web Images Look Like Giant Blobs

Uhm, if I have a PDF and a Web output, and I add an image, then scale it down for PRINT -- once I add an image class to it (Thumbnail, MaxWidth45percent) it ends up looking like a giant blob. What can I add to the style to keep it from looking like something from Ghostbusters?

Add print conditions to pdf

So I am using the MadCap Advanced template- which I love - but I need to make it more printer-friendly for the one or two people that actually print out the pdf...bc there are some pages that are just gray. What's the trick for adding the condition that will allow pages to print without the fancy ...

Creeper Glossary and Index

Why would, even though I have not added a glossary to my output TOC, even though I have added a conditional tag to the one glossary I have defined that is "Excluded" from my output, I keep having my glossary generated in my output? Does it have to do with the MadCap page layout that I am using ...

Vertical Chapter Titles

So, I love the way MadCap has their Chapter Titles and TOC (see attachment). Does anyone know how I would go about mimicing that look -- I mean the Chapter Number and the title specifically? I thought if I tried to design it in Fireworks and bring the CSS over - but Fireworks only likes to export ...

Re: Frame Window Is Like A Crazy Uncle Who Never Leaves

It sounds to me that you're double-clicking outside the "frame" that holds the content, that is, you're double-clicking in the margin space. I'm pretty sure that that's what causes the frame window to open, as Flare thinks that's what you'd like to edit.

Yes, you are right. And since my ...

Frame Window Is Like A Crazy Uncle Who Never Leaves

How can I stop the Frame window from popping up every time I click twice on the text screen? It is driving me to drink.

Re: What is Making My H2 Heading Hideous?

So I figured out that my basic H2 (I mean no class, no anything) was in the stylesheet multiple times. How that happened, I have no idea.

True, but let's be honest - most people don't print pdfs out anymore (trees sigh in relief). They just look at it online. My issue with hyperlinks in pdfs are that they are butt-a** ugly.

What is Making My H2 Heading Hideous?

My H2 heading -- apparently it has high standards because it won't come near the <P> beneath it, even after I've changed the paragraph spacing to "1," it stays as far back as possible. What is the deal? What am I doing wrong?

Best Practice For Starting a New Topic

What do you think is the best practice when deciding to create a new topic, as opposed to just adding and adding to one topic? Assuming your target is a pdf, but you'd like to generate Web Help HTML5 down the line. I normally go with the "H1 or H2" Rule -- if a section needs either heading, then it ...

Suddenly, for no apparent reason that I can think of, Madcap decided to switch to this layout and now I have this black toolbar that I didn't have before. What is this called, and how can I remove it? Thanks!

MadCap Footer Table

I really like the footer table MadCap uses on its Web Help. I was trying to imitate its look, then go about adjusting it to fit my needs. I'm having issues with it, shocker. Originally I simply exported their "SimpleDarkBackground css" to my project, then assigned it to one topic, and created the ...

HTML "BreadCrumbs Poxy" Still Spaced

I still have a margin left between the Toolbar and the Breadcrumbs, despite adding a "0" margin to the top of the Breadcrumbs." I suspect this issue is with the Toolbar -- it needs its margin settings changed -- but I can't figure out how to do it. Can someone point me to a solution please? I have ...

HTML 5 Expand/Collapse Misbehavin'

When I navigate through my webhelp, all items are expanded for two seconds and then collapses. When I move my mouse over the Expand/Collapse button, the tooltip shows me Collapse all when it should say "Expand All." I would like to not have the items expanded, and have the correct tooltip appear ...

Must Click "Expand" Twice to Expand Items

I am using HTML5 output, and I have the "Expand/Collapse" button at the top that allows the whole page to either expand or collapse. My QA are b*tching that when they navigate to a new page, they have to select the "expand" button twice to expand the content. Is that just the way it is, or is there ...

Header and BreadcrumbsProxy

I was attempting to mimic the way MadCap has their breadcrumbs proxy and header aligned on their web help (in hopes to customize it when I get the hang of it). I added the elements to the CSS, but it is coming out wonky. I have attached some screen shots, as well as the code I have in the stylesheet ...
