Re: Remove file path from search results

I looked for the option to "Set the layout to Display: none" but I don't see it. I am using a tri-pane skin. In the Skin Editor, I select Styles > Search Results > Search Result Path, but the only option is for Font. Is the option that Rob noted (Display:none) located elsewhere?

Re: print medium style ignored when attaching local styleshe

Flare Tech Support resolved my problem. In case anyone else encounters this, note that for PDF output the topic must be set as Chapter Break in the TOC; otherwise, the local stylesheet will be ignored.

print medium style ignored when attaching local stylesheet

I encountered a problem with local stylesheets. I attached a local stylesheet to a topic (my project has a master stylesheet), and found that a style defined in the print medium is ignored when publishing to PDF. I publishes fine for HTML5 and also for PDF Preview. I am working around this by ...

Automatically add topics to a TOC file?

I am looking for a way to automatically populate a TOC file with all of the topics in a specific Contents folder. I need this because I am automatically importing a large number of html files into my project (via an HTML import), but the set of imported files changes frequently (both new and deleted ...

Re: Limit on Number of Outputs in Single Project?

Thanks once again, Kellie. Good answer: it certainly does help. We use Perforce version control, so we have the means to revert. I find Flare's Global Project Linking to be absolutely essential but not very elegant in its design. Your replies have helped me understand it better and have confirmed ...

Re: Limit on Number of Outputs in Single Project?

Thanks for your reply, Kellie. If I may, I have one other question. It seems that to create a Flare Project Import File in a template project, you need to first create it and then carefully refrain from executing it (we would want only the projects created from the template project to execute the ...

Re: Limit on Number of Outputs in Single Project?

Hello, Kellie.
Thanks so much for posting this information. It is immensely helpful! I have a question about your Flare Project Import Files: do you include the .flimpfl file in your template project? And, do you have a single .flimpfl file, or multiple such files? Thank you,

Re: TOC and miniTOC, control depth individually?

Hello, Dave.
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. The wasn't the answer I wanted, but so be it. How odd that Flare doesn't support this. I tried faking the Contents page with a list-of proxy (list of h1s), but that failed, so I'm left with using cross-references for the Contents (because I want ...

TOC and miniTOC, control depth individually?

Hello,
I have read through several posts about miniTOC, and have tried the Flare documentation, but I cannot find the solution I need. My requirement is very simple: I need my main TOC to display only H1 headings, and my miniTOCs (at the start of each chapter) to display only H2 headings. When I set ...

Re: Where to store Project Import File?

Hello, Nita (sorry! http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif ),
Yes, that worked! I never would have discovered that procedure on my own -- it is rather round-about; but it works, and I now have the Project Import File template that I need.
Thanks so much for your help ...

Re: Where to store Project Import File?

Hello, Nina.
I ended up creating a new folder to house the new project template file; and that project template file contains one Project Import file (plus some other stuff).
But I have a related question for you. You noted that I could save the Import File as a custom template, but I cannot see how ...

Re: Where to store Project Import File?

Thank you, Nina, this is helpful. Yes, the imports will be standard for each child project (two import files, most likely). What I may do is create a project template that has only the import files (that I will create for my initial imports, as you suggest). I appreciate the suggestions and advice.

Where to store Project Import File?

I am setting up a Parent project that will contain the stylesheet, skins, etc. for our other (child) projects. But it isn't clear to me how to create one (or more) re-usable Project Import files. Our basic workflow when creating child projects will be (1) create an Empty project, (2) import from ...

Re: Page Layout Image Sizing Problems in PDF Output

I don't know the answer, but I am also getting the "illegal operation inside a path" error when I try to publish a PDF that includes a mini-toc entry. When I remove the mini-toc, it is fine. According to the user guide, mini-toc proxies are supported in PDF output. Anyone else getting this error ...

How to gray out Prev/Next Topic button for first/last topic?

For HTML5 skins, how do I configure the Previous Topic button such that it is grayed-out when the current topic is the first topic (that is, there is no previous topic)? The same question for the Next Topic button when the user has reached the last topic in the TOC.
