What is the commenting experience like for our users if we enable anonymous comments? Do they see any kind of registration screen? For example, do they have to create a unique user name before they can comment?

"Exiting" from a div to create a new, unrelated paragraph
What's the trick for starting a new paragraph outside a div? I sometimes have nested divs three or four levels deep, so when I want to create a new paragraph outside the div, I have to keep right-clicking it and moving it left. Flare seems to require me to plan the shape of my topic before I start ...

Re: Creating dropdown text in a list
Ahh. I see that I can use expanding text for every list item because Flare treats the entire item like one paragraph. Sure wish Flare Help explained that!

Creating dropdown text in a list
Is it possible to apply the dropdown text style to items in a list? I want the list to consist of short phrases (dropdown hotspot) that expand to paragraphs, multiple paragraphs, or nested lists. I can't use the expanding text tag because that works only with single paragraphs, but the dropdown text ...

Navigation Pane: hide or show, and why?
The default webhelp toolbar includes a button for the user to show or hide the navigation pane (Contents, Index, etc.). I'm debating whether to delete this button, because I want a narrower Help window. Does anyone have data on how often users hide the navigation pane? I personally never do, but ...

Conditional tags in the Related Topics list?
We are using conditional tags in our topics to deliver different versions to two different audiences. The two audiences should see different "Related Topics" lists. What is the best way to implement that? Do we need two different Related Topics lists? Or will the conditional tags already associated ...

Tracking changes in the glossary file
Part of editing Help documents includes editing the glossary, TOC, and other "accessory" files. Is there any way to track changes in the glossary? I can insert annotations for terms, but the Track Changes button in the ribbon is not available. Oddly enough, the Accept Change and Reject Change ...

Re: Word Wrap in TOC
I'm looking for information about wrapping in the TOC also, although I don't have your problem of the icon and text not aligning. I assume it isn't possible to make the text wrap, however, because it doesn't in the TOC for Flare Help!

Check spelling in the TOC file
There are some spelling errors in the .fltoc file handed off by my writer, but when I try to run spell check in Tracker on all open documents, I receive the message: Found no files to spell check.

Re: creating an icon for the WebHelp toolbar
Sorry, no cookies yet! I've already replaced the logo, but I'm not happy with the way it looks. I'm looking for the specs--size, etc., and how to make it blend in with the toolbar. I ended up capturing an image of the toolbar and adding our text over it, then had to tweak it repeatedly to make it ...

creating an icon for the WebHelp toolbar
I haven't found any specs for the icon you can insert in a WebHelp toolbar (in place of the madcap icon). I've just been pixel-pushing, trying to make our image line up correctly, without overlapping the margins of the toolbar. I set the toolbar to have a gradient, which might be part of the problem ...

Can't open a project
I was happily working in a project and occasionally referring to Flare Help, so I moved the Help topic to another monitor. When I tried to move the Help topic back to the right pane in Flare, I moved it too far and couldn't "grab" it anywhere. I ended up closing Flare and reopening it. Now I can't ...

Thank you again, David. That seemed to fix the problem.
For some reason, every time I refresh my hard drive folders, they revert to read-only. I guess I can work around that!

Re: Can't insert hyperlink: unhandled exception
Dang it (or words to that effect), that didn't work at all. I deleted the original project from TFS and used the Flare interface to bind a new version of the project to TFS. As you said, Dave Lee, the Users folder was not added to TFS.

Re: Can't insert hyperlink: unhandled exception
Thank you! You're right, we added everything to TFS before we knew that we could use Flare's interface to do that. I'll correct this and try again.

Can't insert hyperlink: unhandled exception
(I'm a new user to Flare.) I'm trying to insert a hyperlink in a paragraph by using the ribbon command. In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, when I double-click the file I want to link to, I get an unhandled exception message. Clicking Continue does nothing.

Toggler, expanding, drop-down text: What's the difference?
I'm new to Flare and poring over the Help, trying to understand the distinction between togglers ("a feature that lets you 'toggle' between hiding and showing a tagged chunk of content"), expanding text ("a feature that lets you 'scrunch up' content in a paragraph in your topic"), and drop-down text ...
