Re: Different result on different browsers
I've been using Firefox with Flare almost exclusively for years and don't recall having any browser-specific issues. However, I write for software developers, so I have to support the top four: IE, FF, Chrome, and Safari.

Re: Unable to Apply Table Style Sheet
Where, exactly, are you right-clicking? If you're clicking on the Table block that runs down the left side of the Editor , it should apply the style. You can also right-click anywhere in the table and Select > Table to be sure you're applying the style to the entire table and not just one cell.

Re: "Correct" philosophy for customizing TopNav?
Am I nuts or is there no way to change the color or style of the font in the navigation area at the top of the TopNav pages? If you happen to know where to change the font size and color, please let me know. (It seems odd to me that the correct way to change the size of the TopNav navigation bar ...

Re: Inserting an inline tab on text within a div box
First, there are two semi-colons before text-indent: 20px;. That doesn't fix the problem, but it shouldn't be there. Also, why are the line breaks styled?
Anyway, try replacing the line breaks with div's (and I also used margin-left instead of indent):

I've had better results uploading a PDF and have contributors download the file to use the highlight and comment features of their PDF Reader. Still not ideal, but a much better presentation of your work.

Re: Problems using Tables in Drop Down text
I've run into it from time to time and never really tried to evaluate what was causing it. I have a similar work around, only I cut and paste the closing tags in the Text Editor where I want the Drop-Down to end:
Code: Select all

Re: Not able to initiate Record command.
In the end I had to split the recording phase into 2 stages, stage 1 involved the recording of the video track without audio and stage 2 involved the recording of the audio track/clips using a open source sound recorder and then piecing the 2 together.
I use the same process, but use Mimic to ...

I have been tasked with the same idea. Must be the latest design fad. I'm going to attempt mine using Mimic for the hotspots and animation, which will be relatively simple. Then I just have to figure out how to incorporate it into my Flare project.

Re: Not able to initiate Record command.
I've always had trouble with keyboard shortcuts in Mimic, especially later in the day, and on three different machines. For some reason that I've never been able to figure out, they just stop working.

Re: How to move Flare to another hard drive?
Sorry Craig, just seeing this now. I had some trouble with building an output from a secondary drive. I have a single drive which is partitioned and appears as a network drive (not really sure I understand it completely). Anyway, you may want to try a build as a test (assuming you haven't already).

Re: Applying condition tags within paragraphs - best practic
Just out of curiosity, what's the down side of having two versions of the same paragraph? I've always copied the paragraph to create an alternate version. Or better yet, what's the advantage of riddling a paragraph with conditional tags? Copy, paste, edit, tag. It ain't rocket science.

Re: "New from existing" vs "New from template"
"New from existing" uses a topic file as a template, like Save As. This is helpful when adding multiple topics with similar content, but on a limited basis. For example, you have three topics with the same image. Once you add the image to the first topic, and any additional content that is common to ...

Re: Cursor changes position and trajectory for no reason
By default, cursors are set to have continuity from one frame to another. So if you move the cursor in frame 11, the end of the cursor trajectory in frame 10 is adjusted to the new position. To fix, right-click on the cursor and disable Maintain Cursor Continuity .

SnagIt Error: The PDF file cannot be saved
This is probably a Kwag Only issue, but I thought I'd pass it along in hopes of saving someone else the time I spent trying to resolve it. I got this error when attempting to edit a frame in the SnagIt Editor . My workaround was to Select All > Copy and Paste into a new file.

You can set the Translation property from the File List. Select the desired file and press the F4 key. You can also do this for multiple files using the Windows standard Ctrl+Shift or Ctrl+Click to select them. I do this for all my image files.

It's not a bug. The breadcrumb proxy uses the TOC Label, not the topic H1 ( Flare Help ). The bottom line is, if it's in the TOC, it's going to be in the breadcrumb.

I think it might help if we knew what kind of output you're planning to generate.
