I tried your code and it worked, i.e., all the proxies showed up. You may systematically noting out ( /*hide*/ ) each style in the CSS. I've had it happen where I had an unsupported property in the CSS and the browser would stop rendering when it got to that style.
I'm afraid I can't help you with ...

Re: Top Nav - topics not included in the TOC
When I inspect the elements in the output (in Chrome and Firefox) it says " mc-master-page is an unknown property" and strikes it out... :|

Re: Top Nav - topics not included in the TOC
I don't think that's how it works. If you use the HTML tag to set the master page as a style (instructions), it should work.Titus wrote:What is it about the menu that opens topics in a different master page?

Re: Add Search Bar to Home Page in Tri-Pane?
Can I add a Search Bar to my Home Page, like in TopNav, but in Tri-Pane?
Yes. You can insert a Search Bar Proxy in either the Topic or Master Page and set the properties for MadCap|searchBarProxy in the CSS . I use the Master Page for my topics so the Search Bar is available in the header of ...

Re: UX guidance for web-based outputs
I was thinking of starting a thread on this very topic. I'm currently on a project where both the Design Team and the Project Manager insist on creating a "User Experience". When they say it, I think of my childhood days at camp sitting by the fire singing songs together. All these years I've been ...

Re: resizing the search field in HTML5 Top Nav skin
Sorry for the late response. I haven't really had any issues with this other than when the browser is resized, i.e., non-responsive. In my current top-nav project I have two variations of the Search bar, for which I have two Search Bar Skins with all the attributes for each. Is this what you're ...

Re: Multiple Outputs Using the Build Module
Thanks Dave! Just as a follow up, we ran into a few warning issues which caused the build to fail (mostly Accessibility). On the Warnings page of the Target Editor , I turned off the warnings listed in the Targetmc.log. Now I'm investigating the warnings to be sure it's alright to have them turned ...

Re: Multiple Outputs Using the Build Module
Just to reduce confusion... shouldn't this subject be discussed under a new topic titled "multi-channel publishing"?
This doesn't appear to be a single-sourcing subject. Correct?

Multiple Outputs Using the Build Module
One of my project teams has Flare's Build Module which they use to generate an output themselves from source control. Now they want to have two versions of the output and are asking how to utilize the Conditional Tag feature in Flare since they have no UI? My plan was to tag the TOC entries, but the ...

Re: Toolbar Images Suddenly Showing Null
Fixed - Seems SourceTree decided to corrupt my Projects folder. I happened upon some topic files with strange syntax, which led me to this conclusion. I replaced the Projects file with a backup and I'm back in business.

I haven't seen it for a while, either. However, I do (from time to time) encounter files with no formatting and use NotePad++ with the XML Tools plugin to fix it.

Toolbar Images Suddenly Showing Null
I've had this WebHelp project going for a couple years now and suddenly, when I build the output I get this:

There's a rather lengthy explanation for the underscore, but basically this is the name I used in the skin as a workaround for another issue. I've tried changing ...

My internal Analyzer options are disabled and when I launch Analyzer externally, the UI is empty. Opening a project does nothing. I must have tripped over a setting somewhere, but no idea when or where.

Re: Add to the list of ''Open with'' programs?
The only way I've been able to do it is to set the desired program as the default for the file type in Windows. For example, I like to use Nopepad++ for stylesheets, so here's how I set it up:
1. In Windows Explorer , right-click any .css file, selected Open with > Choose default program . The Open ...

My first suggestion is to rename the files without spaces and make any necessary downstream adjustments, like editing the context-sensitive Help links. It may be very time consuming, but in the long run I think you'll appreciate the effort.

Correct Steve, almost. I'm assuming this issue is with the topic files in the Content folder of the Flare project and your screen shots are from Flare's XML Editor . If you paste my script into NotePad and save it with a .vbs extension, you can run the script by double-clicking the file (no need for ...

I have a similar project in development and the plan is to have one generic Flare project linked to a separate Flare project for each product. The idea is for the Help icon in each product to be linked to its own Help.

Re: Attach dropdown text to expand/collapse icon
You should be able to use Flare's Drop-down Text. Just be sure to insert the snippet as a block, i.e., in a blank line ( see Page 6 ). The trick to doing that is to put the cursor at the end of the preceding paragraph, table, etc. and press the right arrow key of your keyboard. This puts the cursor ...

I've run into this before, usually when importing Word files or files from translators. I have a Visual Basic Script I developed to deal with the issue:

Const ForWriting = 2
Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
objStartFolder = InputBox("Enter file ...
