Re: Change AccordionTitle to Image?

Yes, you can. However, the problem I ran into was with the Toolbar Item class name, for some reason I was never able to determine, would show in the toolbar. My work-around was to name the class with a period and I played around with margins, padding, etc. until the period displayed below the ...

Re: How to embed an image slide show in Flare HTML5

If you want the images to change automatically, you could put that part together with Windows Movie Maker. Then insert the video with the Multimedia feature.

Re: HTML5: Returning to Search Page

It's not really a Back button, but a Scroll to previous topic in the Table Of Contents button (which is what I have for the tooltip). To view your Search Results, you must use the browser's Back button.

Ah, I see. Now that we have that (or should I say, "me") straightened out, let me ask, what size is the image you're trying to apply? I remember my first project where I had to play with image and toolbar sizes quite a bit.

Re: SOS - Webhelp Search!!!

I did some limited testing of the auto-sync in Flare 8 with IE 8 and Firefox 16. My results were either all or nothing. This is what makes me think it's something at the topic level. If the same topics are affected build after build, there must be something unique about those topics.

Is the TocIcon file missing? Try adding the image again in the Skin Editor.

Re: Rename project - risks?

I think you might be better off cutting a branch in Subversion and rename the project file there. This gives you a tag(backup copy), which you should be doing anyway with each release of the product. You may have to load it to your harddrive as a separate project.

Re: SOS - Webhelp Search!!!

I've been playing around with various settings in hopes of re-creating the problem, but everything I've tried is global to the project. I think it must have something to do with the topics themselves and I can't find anything in the Topic Properties that might cause this. The only other suggestion I ...

Re: Div Tag image

The easy way would be to cut the "url('../images/note.png');" syntax and paste for "mc-auto-number-format:" in a text editor. Make sure to add "None;" to the now-blank "background-image:"

To use Flare , display the Auto-Numbering Format dialog box and select Show File Commands from the Available ...

Re: Each word in Drop Down text is capitalised.

Do you have more than one stylesheet in your Resources folder? I like to use NotePad for these types of issues, which you can invoke from the context menu in the Content Explorer for each stylesheet. Then use the Find feature for "capitalize" just to be sure you didn't overlook it before, or that ...

I'm a little confused by your screen shots because I don't have a Background section in the Properties window. As for button images, mine are set in the General > Icon property.

Just to confirm, you're outputting HTML5? Also, do these topics appear in the TOC , i.e., can you open the topic from the TOC ?

If the topics are not in the TOC , two possibilities come to mind: 1) Check the Conditions of a suspect topic ( Home tab). I've seen this in other apps, but not sure if ...

Another option is to Save and switch over to the Text Editor. You can then manually type in <p></p>, Save again and go back to the XML Editor. Not ideal, but effective.

Which is odd because the toolbar button is disabled. I'd like to mention that you have to use the block context menu.

Re: Yes/No/Maybe: Using a CSS Reset file with Flare?

I vote: "No" simply because there is no way I'd start over from scratch. I make weekly backups of all my files, so rolling back to a previous version of my CSS is far more favorable.

As for browser differences, there are a number of work-arounds, from Java Scripts to coding tricks in either the ...

Re: Empty Page After Title Page

If it's consistently every topic my suspicion is the PageLayout is causing the blank page. In the Content Explorer , go to Resources > PageLayouts and open the FLPGL file you're using (probably Default.flpgl , unless you've made another). In Flare 8 , the Page Types display as icons on the right ...

Mine prints the topic only and I'm pretty sure I've never changed anything regarding this. I wonder if it might be a properties setting for your printer?

edit: I just realized that in IE the entire frame prints while in FF only the topic prints.

I went through a similar process when the company I was at migrated to DITA. We had a programmer work for weeks to develop a conversion script and we still had to go through our projects afterward and check the conversion. I've had to do it on a smaller scale, too. We've all had projects change ...

For new topics, use the Text Editor to set up a new topic the way you want and Save As a template. For existing topics, you'll have to use the Find and Replace Find in source code option to put the tags in front of the closing </head> tag.

Have you tried the Replace in All Files feature? You have to click Start to enable it, and then you have to option of leaving files open or not.

Most of my projects currently aren't very large, so it's hard for me to compare. If you're interested in freeware, I'd suggest Search & Replace Master .

I had this same issue while setting up my first Flare skin. If memory servers, I think it had to do with the way I (incorrectly) added images to the project. Did you add the images in the Skin Editor by using the Browse for Images option of the menu for each TocIcon image?

I use an ol.substeps and li.substep with a list style type of lower-alpha for walking a novice user through something like using Command Line . This allows me to write to two levels of users, as savvy users can visually skip over the familiar while not neglecting those who may need the additional ...
