I would like this too. R & D are on Macs and some Linux, and our customers are all on Linux/Unix.
I also have to use Googledocs for intenal reviews, etc.
Will log a feature request.

Re: Definition of error messages in Flare 12
Haven't been able to find anything on the website, forums or knowledgebase.
Maybe it is worth logging a feature request against the Flare help or Knowledgebase, as it would be very useful.

Hi Phil,
I have done this successfully before by using the Edit > Find & Replace > Find and Replace in Files tool.
Enable the Find in Source Code option.
Then enter the tag for the condition in the Find field, for example, where you see something like.

Re: Breadcrumb trail contents
I don't use breadcrumbs, but I found a solution to keep TOC sync working when a topic is used more than once in the TOC, and maybe this would work for your breadcrumbs too.
In your repeated topics like Concepts, put some bookmarks at the top of the topic and link each TOC entry to a different one ...

Re: Toolbar buttons do not show
In the HTML5 Skin Editor -> Toolbar tab, have you checked that when you created your toolbar styles you didn't include any spaces in the style names?
If there are spaces in a style name, the toolbar button will not display in the output.
Worth checking.

Hi,KCinColorado wrote:Any idea on why these images would disappear in Flare 12?
Could this be another case of this (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=27205) affecting Flare 12 images?
Try installing the 64-bit version of Ghostscript.

Hi,
I've just seen this too in my main project which was recently upgraded from Flare 11 to Flare 12.
The project uses the HTML5 skin and I can't preview it via the HTML5 Skin Editor.

Re: Focus issues when opening Flare
I've also been annoyed by this on several occasions.
You can't do anything until it finishes and then have to go through and find the topics it has inserted letters into.
This really needs sorting, as I'm sure many people forget and try to carry out other actions while Flare is loading.

Re: Flare 12 - Grey "Load Failed" tags on unordered list it
Just an update on this...
I saw another post that solved this:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=27205
Flare 12 needs the 64 bit version of Ghostscript to display .eps files. I realised the image used for the bullets in my list is an .eps.
Solved!

Hi Ramon,
Genius! This also solves my problem with the "load Failed " tags instead of bullets:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=27192
I hadn't thought that the image used for the bullet is an .eps.
Thanks again!

Flare 12 - Grey "Load Failed" tags on unordered list items
Hi,
I've just opened one of my existing projects for the first time in Flare 12 and my unordered lists have a grey box alongside, containing the text "Load Failed".
Anyone seen this with Flare 12?

Re: Is Tripane old-fashioned? Is Top nav hype?
For several of our Flare projects, Top Nav is not appropriate because the software it goes with is pretty complex and there are too many top-level headings to work well in a Top Nav situation. I suppose I COULD re-jig things, but our users are familiar with the format and configuration of the help ...

So unhelpful to have the right at the bottom of the topic, rather than at the top.

Re: links in merged html 5 output
Hi Sabine,
When you merge several projects into one HTML5 hub project, the sub projects are placed under the "Subsystems" directory in the output.
Therefore links which may have worked when the individual sub projects were alongside in your former directory structure will no longer work.

There is a bug which arises if you enable the "Do not use Content folder" option AND you are using HTML5 output.

Hi Margaret,
Thank you for your reply.
That is really helpful. I hadn't thought about the File List. That will be useful to sort and go through.
I did generate a report, which also helps.
Appreciate your comments.
