Just a couple of points. It's better to avoid spaces, as it takes out the requirement for other tools to handle those spaces.
A few times I have created new topics and forgotten about the fact that spaces will occur by default and I have built my help output, checked it into our source control so ...

Merged help project - strange search filter behaviour
Hi,
I'm using Flare 11 and have several help projects for various areas of our product.
e.g.
- General
- Install
- Interfaces
- Admin
- API
I've just set up a search filter, using concepts on the largest of these help projects - "General", which seems to be working well.

Hi Aurelie,

Thank you for posting this.
I have been tearing my hair out wondering why my custom toolbar buttons had no tooltips, whereas the default ones did.
Language settings - who would have guessed?!?

Hi Anna,
I use redirect pages to take users to other help pages within the area where my help is published.
They click on a topic in the TOC which is linked to a redirect page which automatically takes them to the page I want them to see.

There is now an upgrade to Flare 11 (v11.0.1) which may resolve this.

Re: HTML doc opens on local device, but not on Web server
Hi,
I've experienced similar problems when viewing output on a non-Microsoft (Linux) web server.
The output launches but everything (toc, index, main window) appears blank.
There is a bug if you enable the "Do not use Content folder" option AND you are outputting to HTML5.

Re: Search not working in HTML5 output/Flare 11
Well, what do you know...? I tried building with an increased Maximum Chunk Size of 100000 and ALSO decided to leave Partial Word Searching enabled (and set to 3) to see what the result would be, and...it worked. The items that were previously not found are now picked up. There must still be a bug ...

No jQuery in my project either, just for reference.
However, I will try increasing the search chunk size to see if that resolves my issues too.

Re: Flare 11 - Stitch PDF - is content picked up by the sear
Just an update on this...
I've tested PDF Stitching on my main project and, in web-based outputs, it doesn't really add anything as far as I can see.
The PDF content does not get picked up by the search and I was already able to include PDFs in the TOC of my help, so there is no real change.

I am experiencing similar problems whilst testing my existing project in Flare 11.

Flare 11 - Stitch PDF - is content picked up by the search?
Hi,
In Flare 11, does anyone know if you "stitch" a PDF into your project, whether its content is picked up by the Flare search?

Search results for items with non-alphanumeric characters
Hi,
I'm on Flare 10.2.2 and have had problems reported with items entered in the search which have non-alphanumeric characters.

Table not appearing in output when uploaded on Linux
Hi,
I'm producing HTML5 output (from Flare 10) and have just set up a sleek looking table for the front page of my help system.
It looks great in the source and in the output on my local Windows machine.
The table style is in the Resources directory under "tablestyles".
However, on a Linux server ...

Just a bit of additional info.

Since assigning them to Index Keywords, they no longer get flagged up in that report. Great.

Hi,
I have a small number of redirect pages set up in my main help project. When the user clicks on a TOC entry to one of these redirect pages it takes them to another help on that topic.

Re: Cross-References not working in PDF
Hi,
I've encountered issues with cross refs in PDFs before and the quickest workaround for me (which may sound mad) has been to open the .doc files in Open Office "Writer" and click on the PDF icon.
Fast PDFs generated with working cross refs!
Cheers!
