Hi,
I'm using Flare 10.2 on my local Windows 8 machine and outputting a very large project to HTML5.
It doesn't happen all the time, but I keep getting problems after building my HTML5 project - the Build Progress window shows that the project has successfully completed the build.
However, the View ...

Re: Flare 9 project gives blank output when built in Flare 10
I just thought I would post back on this.
I contacted Madcap Support who asked me to right click on the target used for my project within Flare 10 and select the "Export to New Project" option. This created a .flprjzip file which I sent to them.
They could not reproduce the blank output.

Re: Flare 9 project gives blank output when built in Flare 10
Sorry. There is a Madcap body proxy in the master page.
I thought you were querying if I had created my own new body proxy.
The Madcap body proxy for the target is unchanged between version 9 and version 10.

Re: Flare 9 project gives blank output when built in Flare 10
Thanks for your suggestions.
I tried setting the body tag of the stylesheet, add black, but this made no difference.
It was already using the default colour, which was black anyway, but I specifically set it to black to make sure.
There is no body proxy.

Re: To alter the text of the browser tab in HTML5
Hi,
If you go to the Project Organizer -> Skins.
Double click on the skin you are using to launch the Skin Editor.
In the General tab, the first field is Caption.
Type in the text you want in the browser tab here.

Flare 9 project gives blank output when built in Flare 10
Hi,
I have gradually been building my existing HTML5 Flare 9 projects in Flare 10 and so far it has been fine.
However, the latest project that I have launched in Flare 10, made a few minor updates to and built, just produces a blank output.

Re: Flare 10 released
I am also curious about why there has not been any fanfare. I downloaded the trial version of 10, but I could not convert it with my subscription licence key. I hope there will be some more info once the MadCap people get into the office. I haven't used 10 yet but I'm looking forward to seeing the ...

Re: Image is Grey - Opaque / Hovering Is Normal
Thank you for this!
I have just set up a brand new project in HTML5 web output and encountered exactly the same issue.
I was scratching my head, trying to find where to configure this.
Why would anyone want opaque images by default?!?
Now fixed, so thanks a lot!

Hi HeraTech,
Very pleased to be able to help.
If you get a chance, please log this as a bug too. There are several issues with publishing to non-Microsoft web server that need addressing and the more people who log them, the better.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I think I need to explain a bit more.

Hi,
I am working on a Flare project which includes all my help systems.
I'm adding in the sub-projects (HTML5) as merged help to be merged at runtime.

Embedded movie with highlighted text below
Hi,
I need to set up a Flare output in which I can show a movie which is embedded in the output page.
I've managed this fine, but I've been asked to highlight chunks of step-by-step tutorial text as the video plays, so that the user can follow what's happening.

Setting up Toolbar Buttons for HTML5
Hi,
I can't find very detailed documentation on this in the Flare help, so I'm hoping someone can help!
I'm setting up a Flare project for a specific purpose, where I don't want the navigation tabs shown, just a pane to be split with a video in 1 half and corresponding tutorial text in the other.

Re: HTML5 publish
Did you get a solution to this?
If not,
a:) are you publishing to a UNIX/Linux based server? and
b:) do you have the "Do not use Content folder" option enabled for HTML5 output?
I experienced a similar problem publishing my help on a Linux webserver.

Partial Word Search using Chrome
Hi,
I decided to test out the Performance > Enable Partial Word Search option in my project's target. It is a very large project and I wanted to see the impact on the size of the output and the length of time required to build the help.
Both were increased massively, which I expected.

Indenting tables
Hi,
This may sound like a stupid question, but how do I indent an entire table, so that it left aligns with the text above and below it?
I have tried all sorts of things and failed and can't find anything in the Flare help or on this forum.
Thanks for any pointers!
Regards,
Feebeegeebee

Hi,
I am starting to evaluate version 7 of Mimic and will also be reviewing alternative products.
Anyone able to advise me on the pros & cons of this version of Mimic.
Most of the posts on the forum remain unanswered, which gives me initial reservations. Are only a few out there using it?

Re: HTML5 output - custom toolbar button image
The issue mentioned was due to the button name including a space, not the image file name. That will cause the background image not to work.
Dave,
Thank you. I haven't had time to get back to this until today. You're a life-saver! That is the solution!
