Hi,
I've been converting existing RoboHelp projects over to Flare 8.
I'm finding that in 2 out of 4 of the projects so far, when the "Do not use Content folder in output" option is enabled, and the help output is uploaded onto the web server, the output is blank. Nothing in the TOC, no pages ...

Re: Importing RoboHelp 8 project into Flare - topics incomplete
Another thing you may try is to look at the source in RoboHelp at the point where the content disappears after import. If you see any similarities in two or more of the failed imports, you may be able to remove the offending code in RoboHelp and then reimport those topics. Just a thought.

Re: Importing RoboHelp 8 project into Flare - topics incomplete
Thanks for the speedy reply.
I can't find an additional file in the project.
On the import from RoboHelp wizard, I can't find any character limit on topics either.
That's worrying if it's the case, as I won't know which files might have content missing.
I have just tried importing a copy of the ...

Importing RoboHelp 8 project into Flare - topics incomplete
Hi,
I'm in the process of converting our existing help projects from RoboHelp 8 to Flare 8.
This appeared to work fairly well and I have a check list for each project, as I go through so make all the required tweaks.
However, I've just imported a project that isn't that large and I've noticed that ...

Re: HTML 5 - Including External Resources in search
Following on from this, any idea why PDFs that I do want included are not coming up in the search results, when I search for terms that appear in them?
They are included in the external resources and are linked from at least one page in the project.
<Scratching head.>
Thanks,
Feebeegeebee

Re: HTML 5 - Including External Resources in search
Thank you both for your replies.
That helps a lot, as I thought I was missing something.
The legacy RoboHelp files should soon be replaced with Flare output, so it shouldn't be an issue for too long.
Regards,
Feebeegeebee

HTML 5 - Including External Resources in search
Hi,
I'm experimenting with using Flare to create a documentation library for internal company use.
I've got as far as setting up pages for the different doc types, including links to files. I've included the external files in folders in the External Resources pane.
I'm getting 2 issues:

HTML5 output - non-Windows potential issues
Hi,
I'm hoping to be able to switch to using Flare 8 soon and generate HTML5 output for our product.
However, I have no real control over where the help will be installed - either locally or on a server. (Many of our customers do not allow users any web access from the machines they work on, for ...

Re: Flare 8 Ribbon debate
Hi,
I'm currently evaluating Flare 8 and have used RoboHelp for many years and before that Doc-To-Help.
I dislike the Ribbon intensely, and was searching here to see if I could switch to normal menus. I also dislike it in the Office versions that have it.
For one thing, in a product like Flare that ...

Re: HTML5 output - Highlighting search results
Hi Nita,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
You've confirmed my suspicions that this isn't supported in Flare 8's HTML 5 output. :?
The search is the most important tool in the help and our customers will NOT like losing highlighted results.
I'm currently evaluating Flare against RoboHelp and given ...
