I'm pretty sure I submitted this, either as a bug or as a forum topic, a few years ago, but it's still an issue and I can't find an answer.
I'm trying to find a way to link to a web page from a Mimic movie (Flash output). The action to do so hasn't worked for years. Does anybody know how the user ...

Unable to change PDF output size
I'm using the latest Mimic 7 (from like a decade ago <sarcasm>. Is this app ever gonna be updated???) and am unable to change the PDF output size to anything besides "Letter". I really have no need to print this document, and really just need it to display at high res on a monitor, so I'm trying to ...

Re: WHen recording full screen, record button disappears
How are you setting the "full screen"? When I use Snap to Window , the control panel is inside the frame (actually, I don't even see a frame, just the control panel and the position arrows).

Re: Flare 11 and Favicons
Nevermind. I figured it out. Had to add the favicon info to the opening page (on my site, called "intro.htm"). I also moved all favicons (png, icos) to the Content folder, which seems to be the default folder now.

Re: Is topnav a good idea, friendly user?
Richard, I'm also not sure it's an improvement, though I agree it looks a lot better. But that could have been helped with a bunch of nice skins, instead of the old-looking ones that you can download for Flare 10.

Flare 11 and Favicons
I'm converting my Flare 10 site to the new Top Nav format in Flare 11. I've been adding a line in the index.html to show favicons for all browsers, then adding the favicons to the root folder. However, the favicon is not displayed in the Flare 11 site. Do I need to modify a different file? What is ...

Fantastic! Thanks, Nita!
FYI: You list the specs of your MacBook Pro as having a "7GHz" i7 processor. I think you probably meant 2.7GHz. :)
I have a similar setup and have been using it for the past couple years to use Flare when attending my local Flare user group here in Colorado. I've noticed ...

Re: "Available Target" option in Flare 11's 'top nav' format
I think I figured it out. There is no difference. It just sets whatever audience you choose as the default variable in the target.

"Available Target" option in Flare 11's 'top nav' format
What is the difference between the "Audience A" and "Audience B" targets in the new advanced top-nav format? The descriptions are exactly the same.

Re: parameter is not valid
It's not actually a permissions issue. Mimic is not working correctly because of the size of the file. When I brought the frame count down to 200 frames or so, it worked just fine.

Re: parameter is not valid
He's running XP, so likely to be 32 bit, but he has only 3GB RAM anyway.
I'm running Win7 Pro, 64-bit. My maximum frame number seems to be around 200. After that, I get errors like, "Can't write to folder" (even though Mimic just created the folder itself), or the errors above.

I'm pretty sure these two messages are the same issue. I'm getting this with a 400 frame movie. I think the only option is to reduce the size of your movie. I have a feeling that Mimic runs out of memory very easily and doesn't deal with it well. Sorry! I hope somebody has a better answer!

I'm sorry that this isn't an answer! I have the same issue when I have a lot of frames in my movie.

Re: System out of memory exception error popup.
I'm having the same issue with only 400 frames. I assume it's because Mimic is only 32-bit, so can only address so much memory..? I have 16GB RAM, 8 cores of new Xeons, and an SSD. Also, recording, I could only record 24 frames at a time, then save, then restart Mimic, then record another 24 frames ...

I would love to see an option somewhere for the site builder to set the ToC to be expanded by default, with a ++ and -- icon on the page itself so the user can expand all / contract all if they want to.

One of our developers was able to fix this by changing one word in the .js file, in the output folder:

Search for ForceUseJS= and change false to true
That's it. If this was changed by default, there would be no problems using HTML5 output for any ...

Thanks for the clarification. I was trying to make the favorites icon be something different, and just found out that it just isn't possible. I don't understand why, though; I'm submitting a feature request.

So even on a computer without that specific font, it should display that font because it's embedded? I didn't think that would happen.
No, it doesn't embed the font. So if you choose that font, make sure you also include some other common alternative fonts.
