I hope this is not too stupid a question, but up until yesterday, Flare would indicate any Changes in red in its wysiwyg screen.
I do have "Show Changes" checked in the Review Ribbon.
Where on earth do I rectify this?

Find Field entry problem
Flare 2017 r3
I can be quite regularly using the Find and Replace dialog to look for specific content in the Source Code, when suddenly I find I can clear the "Find" field, but am unable to enter anything into it other than from the Clipboard.
Am I missing a trick somewhere?

Re: PDF - Images - missing bottom borders
What are you viewing the PDF in? In our case, post Windows 10 Fall update, we found Flare's View Result was now defaulting to MS Edge.
Have you opened the same file in Adobe Acrobat Reader itself?
Do you see the same issue when you print the document?
I have just repeated the test again. Viewed ...

Hi Trent,
I've not been able to pin down exactly what the issue is here. And unfortunately not the time either.
Virtually all of the dialogs in the application have a blue border, hence I use the feature of SnagIt which let's me easily capture them.

Re: PDFs - Blank Pages
Yes, I did find a cause and a solution, but it took a lot of time, not to mention persistence. I was fortunate in that I could use on a separate system. This allowed me to do a gradual search and replace to establish which particular Style was causing the problem.

Word - Indexing
One of the major reasons for selecting Flare is our need to produce alternative format output.
With PDFs, having a Hyperlinked Index is a huge plus, but sadly Word does not have this feature.
However, I came across a Word Add-in called "Index Linker" which converts Word's Index page numbers into ...

Thank you for such a quick reply. I think Terminology is one of the trickiest things I've had to deal with using Flare, is between word processing and desktop publishing

Re: Page Fillers
I did look at Snippets, but cannot seem to find a way of adding a border and background colour.
The equivalent for a Word user would be to draw a text box, fill its background with a colour, then add the text.

One of the somewhat frustrating issues in creating visually appealing print output, is obviously page layout, and often we find we have anything from say a quarter to a whole page which is blank.

PDFs - Blank Pages
Came across a nasty one which had us baffled.
After compiling a PDF and viewing the output on screen, we occasionally would come across a random blank page. It was as if it was being displayed with a white font.
MadCap could not replicate, until........ They saw it happen on my system.

Re: HTML5 Unordered List Bug
It does indeed only apply to unordered lists, but would be possible for Flare's developers to deal with it.
However, when you are faced with a validation report which contains over 4,000 such messages - all flagged as an "Error", not a "Warning" - among a total of over 12,000 issues, one does get ...

I wish I knew! However, it is a bug in Flare's export to HTML5, and only occurs with unordered lists. Madcap have confirmed this.

Many of Flare's Reports are extremely helpful in tidying up a project.
However, many have one major failing - or perhaps it's just me.
Many will repeat the same error when it occurs multiple times in the same Topic.
Surely having found the error in the first place, it could add the Line Number ...
