Re: No colours displayed in Conditional Indicators
Hello sitapatel. Welcome to the forum. You didn't mention the version of Flare you are using, but I assume it is a recent (11 or above) version. The box adjacent to the web icon and file name should show you the color of the conditional indicator. Presumably the topic has a conditional tag of some ...

Re: Hiding Index entries
Hey there Steve....
If you mean hide the index entry from the authoring/input/source side, you would deselect 'show markers'.
If you mean hide the index entry from appearing in the output, you would do this the same way as text. Namely, using a conditional tag(s) that is set in the target to be ...

You're welcome. Strange this should be your experience. Perhaps consulting with MadCap Technical Support is in order.
Also, while I'm sure you are aware, please be reminded that the pending check-in list can display on a per user basis. Conceivably, that could explain why you saw zero files checked ...

Re: Corrupted Review Packages
You are doing things correctly from a procedural perspective. I don't know why the files should become "corrupt". Is the recipient using Flare or Contributor to open the file? Admittedly though, that shouldn't matter.
I would contact MadCap support and ask for their help.

Re: Automatically add topics to a TOC file?
Hello aneedell.
There really is no way to completely automate the process you have described. That said, there are some techniques you can use to help minimize your efforts.
First, you can drag the entire folder of how ever many files into the TOC editor. That will "automatically" map each TOC ...

Hi Dave.

Re: Compiler error: Failed to parse master page file
Hello Susan. I wouldn't know specifically what is causing the error you report, however, given the symptoms I think it would be fair to assume the file has somehow been compromised (i.e. is corrupt, etc.). Fortunately, the flmsp file is essentially just another xml file. Therefore, I suggest trying ...

lanval, I have a suggestion....
First, you haven't posted the version of Flare you are using. I assume the latest, 2016 r2. When I use the Spell Check window and come across a "valid" word that Flare flags as a misspelling, choosing Add To Dictionary causes Flare not to flag that word again. That ...

Hello Larry -

Re: Seeking guidance regarding merging topics in Flare
Hi Lindsey. You may be thinking - mistakenly so - that there is a feature in Flare whereby if you have two topics, one with the letter A and B and another topic with the letters B and C that you could merge/combine them into one topic and be left with A, B and C. No such feature. What you need to do ...

Re: Skin Editor - Add On Hover Tooltip to Toolbar Button
Hello JasonB_AT_Syf. As you haven't specified the version of Flare you are using and the skin type, it's difficult to provide targeted (no pun intended) feedback. I'll reply with the assumption you are using a very recent version of Flare, such as V12 or 2016 r2, and that the skin is HTML5. In the ...

Re: Issue with Dropdown in HTML5 Project
Hello JasonB_AT_Syf.
The short answer is "no".
The longer answer is there really is no issue. Note that you should not have "an HTML5 project and a WebHelp project". What you should have is one source project with two target outputs . The code is the same (see below). There is no parameter ...

Re: Printing from Help only prints first page of topic
Hi jzayac. I don't think the issue you've described is related to Flare output. I'm assuming you are using HTML5 output. The print functionality (print button in top nav, right click, whatever) merely calls the operating systems Print dialog window. The OS Print window can control the printer, page ...

Re: Search and replace crashes in v12
@awells12. Certain files cannot logically be "replaced". For instance, find "A" and replace with "B" wouldn't work very well with image files. Image files are an example of non text based files that are included when you choose to search "all files". That said, I wholeheartedly agree that optimum ...

Hi Lisa. I honestly have no familiarity with GitHub, but from what I've gleaned over the years it is a type of source control hosted on a web server. In any case, I can suggest the following (no particular order).

Re: Search and replace crashes in v12
Sorry to understand you are still faced with this issue. When you write that MadCap has confirmed the problem and passed on to their development, is that to say they acknowledge that there is in fact a problem with their program? Passing to development could simply mean that their level 1 support ...

Hello Gina.
I'm pretty sure I get the gist of your issue, however, I'd be remiss if I didn't ask for clarification. When you write that you "have excluded this condition from my HTML5 target", I take this to mean you are using the Basic Conditional Text radio button in the target AND selecting the ...
