Re: Table disappears
I've not heard of this before. What version of Flare?
Is there any way you can try opening the files on another computer and see if the tables are still lost?
If you use the Text Editor window, do you see that table tags and content?

Re: Misplaced Files when Building
If I'm not mistaken, this would be based on the project folder. When I'm looking at my projects I have a structure similar to:
C:\Work\FlareProjectName

>Analyzer
>Content
> Output
>Project
The Output folder has a subfolder for each user name using Flare on that computer (I'm guessing ...

Re: Embed PDF in project and show it in PDF output
If you build one of the new print template projects in Flare 10, they include a PDF containing instructions for use. They build process spits out a warning about needing Ghostscript if you plan to include an embedded PDF in your published PDF output. Looks like this is a new feature in v10.

Re: Very discouraged with epub output
Incidentally, Matt, I was able to produce epubs all day long with Flare 9 that loaded and worked without issue on my tablet using Calibre's reader, and through the mobi outpout into Kindle. The validation issue affects distribution to bookstores like Apple's that rerquire ePub 3 validation. That ...

Re: Very discouraged with epub output
I will admit that at the time I started this thread I was putting out a revision of a novel I wrote and gave up on Flare 9 output. Instead I created a Word output and cleaned it up, and then ran it through Smashwords to submit. That method worked without issue and validated perfectly.

Re: Very discouraged with epub output
Well, I haven't tested a finished epub book yet, but so far my draft builds are validating when built under Flare 10. I am hopeful that this issue is resolved, but I won't know for sure until I build another novel for submission to publishers like Apple that require ePub 3.0 validation.

Re: Flare v10 - Crashes
Shawn,
I'm not sure this is relevant or not, but do you shut down Flare every night when you quit? How often (if ever) do you restart Windpws?
I've had a hunch for a while now that Flare accumulates issues the longer you leave it running, and I suspect it may be related more to .NET than anything ...

Re: Subversion 1.8 Released June 12
Flare 10 appears to require 1.8.
This seems to be the core of the issue I was reporting in another thread.
When I open an SVN project in Flare 10 I am prompted:

Re: Little question about an icon
I see this icon whenever I rename a file in Flare that is under source control. To add a bit to what Nita said, as long as my file has this icon Flare goes through a check out process every time I save (even though it is already checked out). I'm assuming this is because of the layered status in SVN ...

Flare 10 and SVN projects create in Flare 9
I installed my shiny new toy (Flare 10) yesterday and right away wanted to see how it affected my existing projects. I use SVN hosted at Cloudforge for my source control, and have had few if any problems.

Re: Recommended Subversion Host
I'm currently using Cloudforge's free plan for my source control with Flare 9.1.2. It's been mostly successful, although it is sometimes slow accessing the files from withing our company network. I won't have any delays at all while working on the project from home, which leads me to think it's ...

Have you tried reinstalling your .NET? This error (to me, at least) implies a problem with the communication between the programs.

Very discouraged with epub output
So I've just spent two days fighting with Flare 9.1.2 to get an epub output build that could pass the EpubCheck validation. I've just finished rewriting a novel I wrote a few years ago, building it as a Flare project and outputting as epub. Then I submit the epub to Smashwords and watch it fail ...

Help with Word output
I have a group of documents that I single source in Flare. My primary output is PDFs which are then published on our company's website. Some of them also have HTML5 versions and epub (just for the nerd points of having some of our docs in ebook form). Two of my internal customers provide policy ...

Re: Flare browser/editor fonts on Windows 8
I actually run Flare 9.1.2 on (Yes, I'm a geek) Windows Server 2012 R2 (server version of Windows 8.1). I haven't had any problems with Flare thus far. I've even found that one of my OTF fonts works properly under Flare on this platform, though I'm chicken to test it out for compatibility on my main ...

I use prettify in my projects but remember that it is only for web outputs and won't change your PDF outputs (I would love to have something that would work in both, if anyone knows of one).

Re: mini-TOC not displaying in PDF output
The solution occured to me after I handed-off the final draft version of the API documentation I've been working on, and I just tested and confirmed the solution.
I was using the mini-TOC proxy on my h1 pages to provide a method of quickly navigating to the h2 headings in the section. My problem ...

mini-TOC not displaying in PDF output
Please excuse me if there has already been an answer to this; my search-fu is weak today.

Re: Does Flare integrate with Drupal?
I haven't found a way myself, but I too would be very interested in learning more about publishing to Drupal or Joomla.
The only thing I've figured out so far is to publish as HTML 5 and then manually import each page. Not bad if it's a small set of pages but could quickly become hoorendous.

Re: "Document is not valid..." message
The problems I've seen when I've gotten this error are usually along the lines of a missing bracket or misplaced tag. I've been using the PrettyPrint formatting for code samples which requires some manual tweaking of the XML to add the class to my <pre> tags. When I do this, I sometimes forget a ...

Re: Adventures in Visual Studio Online
I actually surrundered in frustration a couple weeks after my last post. The other two writers on my team work on shorter documents, mostly in Word, and don't have the need for source control that I have. They also were less able/willing to put up with the hoops of using the TFS client to manually ...

Re: "Document is not valid..." message
In my experience, this message has appeared when I've had a minor error in my XML. It may render correctly when you build an output, but Flare is still flagging it as a problem and alerting you when you try to save.
