Yup, I'm in the crashing boat.
Flare can crash 10+ times in a day (depending on what I'm doing and how much I'm using Flare). Recently I've been having issues renaming files and I get the 'submit crash report' to Flare window. Not sure who gets to handle all the crash reports but I'm keeping them ...

Global Project Linking -- to use or not to use?
Hi,
I have recently been producing a series of user guides and, being a self-taught Flare user, it was just 'do whatever I can to learn the product to get the user guides out the door yesterday (read: ASAP)'.
However! Now I have the dilemma that my project has lots of information, some of which is ...

Re: Images within tables not displaying in PDF output
I'm not sure I can help but a few questions for you;
Do you have any column width specifications set and/or conditions applied to the table? Also, have you made any changes to images in Capture rather than inside Flare?
Also, when you print the PDF output (I'm guessing you mean 'build'), does the ...

Re: Even/odd page layouts wrong when chapter starts on even page
Ah, this is a battle I have had many-a-time (layouts and page ordering). Not 100% sure what's causing it but I will give you a few things to try in the hope that one of them helps!
It sounds like you've set up the page settings for the first page in each chapter, but have you specified any page ...

Re: Cannot copy files, access denied - Synchronize Function
I don't think it's an issue with the server because many of the files do synchronise on the server and they're all located on the same directory.
The project currently sits on my local PC so that it's faster (but I back it up to the server); it's just the images that other users contribute that sit ...

Re: remote desktop and license keys
I'm not sure what's causing your issue but I haven't had problems using remote desktop with Flare. I have had the case where I've lost the Ribbons in Flare but it wasn't an issue with licensing so Flare would still open.

Re: Error- "Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Hi Margaret,
Unfortunately that's a very common error but doesn't really tell you what's caused the error (though many wish it did).
It's definitely worth trying to condition out the topic and see if it builds but it isn't always be the case that that will solve the problem.

The full program 'Madcap Analyzer' (V6 and V7) is what I'm having problems with. I started with V6 but thought updating to V7 may solve the problem -- it didn't though :-/

Thanks for the reply. I had checked the read-only status and it wasn't unfortunately. I had thought that may be the problem too.

Hi,
I have a tricky problem where Analyzer won't stop updating and re-analyzing my project! As in, it will scan my project, give me the results and then, as soon as I try and click on an item in one my reports the information vanishes because Analyzer is doing another analysis. Driving me a little ...

Print TOC centre aligned problem
Hi,
I have a problem where my Print TOC somehow has centre-aligned itself. I didn't change any styles that I know of.. but I was fiddling around with the PDF Target.
The items in my TOC are aligned down the centre with the page numbers right-aligned.
But I don't know how I got it to do this or how ...

I have my windows display set to 125% too which explains why I also had difficulties.
As a side note, I've found that many programs are not compatible with 125% screen resolution. E.g., the toolbar icons become blurry. A definite area for improvement would be to ...

Hmm.. on closer inspection, what I just posted (xref keeping formattig but losing the link) may be a bug. I will investigate further with Tech Support and will try to keep you posted.

Re: Active links only when topic is included in TOC?
Hi Patty,
I thought I had found a solution to this but it's currently not doing what I need. I'll explain what it's doing so you know if this is what you need. Unfortunately it does use conditions - but it could be quite simple (as far as conditions go).

Text wrapping in either bullets or <ul><li><p>
Hi,
I've found similar forum posts but haven't found one with quite what I'm after.
We have bullet points in our Flare topics (<ul><li>) that have more text than fits onto one line of an A4 page, so the text wraps onto the next line.
The problem is that the text doesn't wrap to stay inline with ...

Yep, you can definitely condition columns and rows as described. I have a table with so many different conditions applied that the table looks like someone decided to scribble all over it in different colours (it was the only way I could single source the table contents).

I agree with Rob Hollinger that it may be the DPI setting you have. Just one thing I wanted to add is that the print DPI is set in Capture and can be set in two places within File Properties (right-click on the image and select File Properties); the Format tab and also the Flare Print Format tab ...
