As we know, there are multiple ways to perform most tasks in Flare.
Take editing a hyperlink...
[Ctrl][k] works, if that's the way you swing.
Mousing to the "Insert" menu and selecting "Hyperlink" also works.
But why is there the option of a right-click menu that includes "Edit Link" if it works ...

One has newer versions of some features, with updated explanations.
Other project needs some (not all) topics updated with similar or identical newness.

Re: first underscore "stacked" in open topic list
Perhaps the difference is the Windows version. I'm still on XP.
Anyway, it's not overtly a big problem, just a curiosity.
... except... when I see things go wonky, I always wonder what's attached to them and is also going wonky down in the basement where the Morlocks work....

first underscore "stacked" in open topic list
I use all lowercase naming in my Flare projects, and I use underscore and dash characters to separate words in those filenames.
When I have more than three or four topics open, Flare displays some and keeps others ready with a drop-down list on the tab bar of the WYSIWYSG editor. When I click to ...

So, to add to what Lisa already said:

Mine was choking on some characters that had been in my help since Flare v1.1, but it only started the silly surrogate pair error a couple of months ago.

Right-click to create a link
Could someone please explain the logic?
If I have a sentence in which I right-click a word - oh... say... "verify", I get a pop-up menu, of which the fourth action is "Hyperlink". I use that a lot on words and phrases. I already have the mouse pointer right there, so why not just right-click?

Re: Want paragraphs to have same look in printed as in WebHelp
Steve,
Those were good discussions on how to make Notes look the way you want them in Help, but I've already got that... and better.
My problem was having it come out in Print output, to look the same as it does in Help (specifically WebHelp).
So I think Nickatwork has the right idea.

Want paragraphs to have same look in printed as in WebHelp
Been doing WebHelp only.
I haven't tried printed output for years. Somebody asked.
I created a new ToC with all the same content.
I created a print-only target and publish destination - MS Word, and published.

OK, thanks everyone.
I just wanted assurance that it's a legit thing to do, so next time something fishy happens, and I describe it, people don't say: "Oh, well, no WONDER you had problems with two (or three or...) instances open."

Do multiple instances of Flare co-exist peacefully?
I recall, with previous Flare versions, that having more than a single instance of Flare open at any one time was risky.
So I've avoided doing it. But if it's allowed and safe, then it's useful sometimes.
Are we supposed to be able to run two (or more) projects at one time on a computer?

I have them both accordioned to the right of my WYSIWYSG pane all the time, along with Styles and (the rarely helpful) Dynamic Help.

Yes, different.
When I previously tried "note" by itself, (no quotation marks) I was still using the "Find in Files" dialog (which still doesn't do the trick).
Having now tried that in the "Find and Replace"............ it works.
I think I'd better give myself tomorrow off.

Re: Find everywhere that a style is applied in a project
I just tried [ p class="note" ]
(without the square brackets... that was just to indicate the field in this message)
as the search term in the Find in Files dialog.
No hits.
There are at least five hundred in my project.

Previously, I would use p.note style for Notes, Cautions, and Warnings in my WebHelp.

Re: Right-adjust (or tab) a graphic in heading
First, I'm not sure that's a valid style name. I don't think you can have periods in class names because the period is a reserved character to designate a class. You can use underscores, so you could have p.notepad_note, but I don't think p.notepad.note is valid CSS code.
