Can someone (who has done it...?) clarify/expand a bit about the SQL database option?
If you are not using SQL for anything else, is this requirement (decent search in WebHelp) worth the overhead of setting up the SQL option?
I'm not clear on what the cost would be (in time and effort, both ...

My company is re-branding, so I need to apply changes of color, font, graphic elements, etc., all over my WebHelp.

Re: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I have had this happen three times now - Flare 6.1 on Windows XP Pro x64 - where I'm doing some innocuous operation in the middle of a topic (the WYSIsortaWYG editor).
The editing window contents disappear and that error message (...not set to an instance...) appears.
The page area goes white ...

Can you view MadCap's knowledgebase in Chrome? That will narrow down whether it's something in your project or with running the help locally or if it's actually Chrome itself. If you can view the KB then it's the project or something internal to your environment. If you can't view the KB, then it's ...

After I publish my WebHelp, the log summary has a list of exclusions.
I want to track them down and kill them. I don't want to spend all year at it.

It's not like I don't stare right past that, while pasting blobs of text, 10 times a day.
Does exactly what I wanted.

Probably I'm blind, but, is there a straightforward way to convert a bunch of paragraphs to a table, via the Flare interface?
I get output from command-line utilities that can run to hundreds of lines of plain text paragraphs (often just a word or two per para).

Yes I can.
UPDATE:
I just got a report from the Techwr-l list that Google is taking the issue seriously,
is addressing it along with another issue regarding JavaDocs, and has a fix in
the works - already being tested internally. Woohoo!

I'm writing this from Chrome (5.0.375.55).

Re: spaces, spaces, who's got the spaces
To insert <pre> </Pre> :
I can edit a file in an external editor, but that's totally cumbersome for something this small.
How to insert html tags directly (internal editor) so that they are parsed as tags and not (as is the case normally) just accepted as literal content text?

For various reasons, I like to move Flare projects around. When I do, things break due to non-relative paths for this-and-that.
One example is a Destination that points to a previously valid (but no longer so) absolute path.

I did that. I also tried the other two options "(all open documents)" and "(documents in same folder)". "Replace in All Files" remains stubbornly grey.

I have a product name ( a TLA- three-letter acronym) that needs to be replaced throughout my project with a different tLA (two-letter acronym).

Essentially, that's it. More than a few times, we've had the synonym or search term in the text, but as a compound word or somesuch, and a search by a new customer (or potential, lucrative new customer) doesn't find it. If they go by their experience with just about every other computerized ...

Somebody suggested a synonym file, which is all very fine as long as:
a) you anticipate words that people will use in industries you've never met
b) you live with your customers and so will get the grumblings as soon as they happen
c) you have a really short release cycle or can re-release ...
