The page numbers appearing in my page footers are of the form {chapnum}-{pagenum}.
In the TOC I can only see the page numbers, which do restart correctly at the beginning of each chapter.
How to I get the TOC to display the page numbers in the required {chapnum}-{pagenum} format?

Re: Cross References (Xrefs) to Another Topic
Thanks. That works. So next thing: Does Flare (or maybe Analyzer) have some systematic way of maintaining a table of project bookmarks, something like this:
Bookmark Name Bookmark Text Bookmark Style Parent Topic file
And then: I can sort on column 1 or sort on column 4
Meanwhile, I'm setting ...

Cross References (Xrefs) to Another Topic
Creating an xref to from one topic to another in the project is easy as long as it is to the external topic's heading. But how can I xref to a style within an external topic, such as a figure caption?

Re: Setting TOC Level
I still have not solved the problem. Worse still, for a regular full TOC it uses 3 levels and if I want only two - I might as well just whistle in the wind. In Frame that was so easy. (Sigh).

Re: Setting TOC Level
One more thing:
I tried creating a private stye sheet for the brief TOC topic. It was a copy of my regular style sheet but with mc-heading-level set to zero for h2 and higher.
They should not have appeared in the TOC. It didn't help: The TOC proxy just ignores all settings and puts out all the ...

Re: Setting TOC Level
Hello Nita!
Meanwhile I took another completely different tack:
1. Create briefTOC and fullTOC conditions.
2. Appropriately condition the the TOC proxy in the BriefTOC.htm and FullTOC.htm topics.
(FWIW, also applied as project TOC properties Duh!)
3. Apply mc-conditions as fullTOC to TOC2, TOC3 ...

Setting TOC Level
This is for PDF output: Generating a full TOC using the TOC proxy works fine. I would also like to generate a "Contents at a Glance" TOC with only one level (h1). Where or how do you set the TOC level? (Background: I come from Frame, where this is very easy. Also, I've looked in the online help; it ...

Re: Interaction Between Condition Tags and Variables Sets
One important design detail I overlooked:
In setting up a system of this type, you must nominate a "primary" or "default" OEM around which, all of the development takes place. As soon as both the topics and the target(s) look reasonable, you should then be able to switch to a different OEM to check ...

I struck this. Avast has a menu option to disable it for 10 minutes, 1 hour or until next boot. Just disable it for 10 minutes, do the install and all's well.

Further to my last post:
If you change the CSS to this -

Re: Style Inheritance When Linking in a Snippet
Thanks for the prompt replies. Upon building the project (one file!) I got this for both the copy/paste and snippet cases:

with the Ø character. I guess that is progress. (I have a pending followup on this as well.)

Style Inheritance When Linking in a Snippet
Hello!
I have a snippet that looks like this:
<Wingding graphic> To do something or other:
1. Do this.
2. Do that.
3. Do something else
Additional information:
1. All formatting is via the project style sheet.
2. In the snippet the formatting looks OK: The graphic, set up with its own color as an ...

Re: Cell Level Control in Table Styles
Thanks for that. I'll need a bit of time to "digest it" and implement it. One thing that is clear: I'll be staying with the table style sheets rather than adding tables to the topic styles (re-use purposes).

Cell Level Control in Table Styles
I am moving from a FrameMaker background. FM allows you total control of table cell appearance using the Custom Ruling and Shading dialog. By contrast, the Flare Table style dialog only (seems?) to allow table ruling control at the row or column level. What am I missing? (BTW, The advice on p 106 of ...

Setting Default Browser
This applies to any of the MadCap programs:
If you need anything that requires opening an external Web Browser window/tab (for example downloading a PDF document), you are always taken to Internet Explorer. I would prefer my default browser, Firefox (not as heavy). Where can you change this behavior?
