Re: Missing Linked File - but No Link
And ... it's back again, this time with a different set of files, and there is nothing to resolve. This will be a long support call.

Re: Yet another <File Path Is Too Long> error
Hi Craig,
Are you building on a server and testing on your own machine? In my case, the server was using a deeper directory path than my machine; it worked for me but not for the server. Also, I found that 260 char limit is not always correct; sometimes it fails on less. Doesn't your build log ...

Re: Missing Linked File - but No Link
Well, this is bizarre, but apparently the problem is resolved on the build server. I used resolve offline work in Perforce, found one file, and resolved it. The builds then worked, as they do now. However, this file was not one of the target files, and it has no links to the phantom target files. I ...

Re: Missing Linked File - but No Link
Thanks for the reply, Nita. I did have to custom-craft a title page for this sucker. I'll see what happens when I substitute an old one.

Missing Linked File - but No Link
I have 3 errors similar to this:
"Missing linked source file: c:\work\cc_dists\checkout\current_integration-docs\workforce\docSource\Temp_Sources\POLC\Content\JavaScript Documentation\Using JavaScript for SQL Imports.htm"
This is a message from our doc build server. Files are stored in Perforce and ...

Re: User access by "information types"
Thanks, Ramon. I was hoping someone might know a way, but unfortunately, multiple systems are out because it would require too many combinations.

User access by "information types"
The Boss wants to be able to restrict users from accessing certain topics in WebHelp Plus output. He envisions checking the user's login to our software to determine which topics in one file or in several merged files will be available to that user. A manager role would have more access than a non ...

Re: Selective Word Count
Actually, I meant that I would do the count in Word only for the covers and the (static) copyright page, and rely on Flare for the project total for each project. Good point about the snippets; it would be for translation. I'll explain the situation to The Boss.

Re: Selective Word Count
Hi, Nita - Actually, it's not a bad idea if we only need to do it once. The copyright will stay the same, and the covers won't vary much, so I could just do the count in Flare and subtract the Word word count. So to speak. But it would be nice to have a more foolproof way.

Selective Word Count
The Boss wants to know whether we can do a selective word count by excluding some topics. Specifically, count all the words in the project except for those in the cover and copyright topics. I've tried conditioning them out, but Flare seems to count all words regardless of condition in the ...

Re: Madbuild -log true oddness
Here's another DOS question (I've forgotten whatever it was that I learned):
I have several batch files similar to this:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare V9\Flare.app
madbuild -project "C:\WorkForce\AdministrativeModule\AM.flprj" -log true

HTML5 and IE10 issues?
Is anyone else having problems displaying HTML5 Help in IE10? There was an update 10/8/13. My version number is 10.0.9200.16721. The update number is 10.0.10.
