Re: SnagIt on the Right-Click Menu

Hi, it works ok on my system, but the linked application is shown as "SnagitEditor.exe". Snagit32.exe is the capture engine part of Snagit, so it looks like that link is messed up (you need to open the image in SnagitEditor). I think Flare gets these links from Windows, so the problem is probably ...

Re: Editing thumbnail image appearance

Clare, I think that for "on-hover" pop-ups, that is by design: if users are getting as far as moving the pointer over the image, then they'll see the full image and the screen tip is redundant (not even seen, as you said).

For "on-click" pop-ups, I agree this feature would be useful: having ...

Re: Capture or Snagit.

Shawn, when you say that both Capture and Snagit allow you to work with vectors, do you mean your input image is a vector image (i.e. not a screenshot)? Or do you mean that you can put vector objects on a screenshot as overlays?

I think the problem with saving screenshots with callouts as a vector ...

Re: Capture or Snagit.

Hi Shawn and ChoccieMuffin

That's a good list Shawn. I just wanted to add that the Print Format property tab works well for me in PDF output, but I understand your point about being able to use vectors. For callouts, you could use the text rectangle object as an alternative, or for a box with a ...

Re: Well THAT'S annoying! OTF PS fonts not supported!

I think you've summed up the situation perfectly. It looks like Capture has indeed been left to wither. As awful as some of Capture's drawing tools are (and the crazy OTF support mismatch with Flare), I am addicted to the "right-click > edit with Capture > move, change, add a callout > save > job ...

Re: Make MadCap|slideshow and Madcap|slide fill body vertically?

How are your slideshow settings configured? There is a setting called Adaptive height on the General tab of the settings. If it is turned on, the slideshow height will shrink/expand to fit the content of each slide. When turned off, all slides are set to the height of the slide with the ...

Re: Can't crop a new image

Hi Dreamer, welcome to the forum.

A blank image (from File > New > New From Profile) cannot be cropped. Whether this is a bug or by design, I'm not sure.

The 2 easy ways to work in Capture are:

+ Start with an actual screen capture that you create with Capture.

+ Open an existing image file in ...

Re: Tip: Styling conditions in HTML5 help

Hi Matt

I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but as I understand it, it works on the output files, post-build. So you won't be able to see it in the XML editor, only in the output.

Re: How to get a link to a web font into <head> area in output

Thanks. That works, although Flare strips some of the information out of the link in the stylesheet and I end up having to replace it in the output.

@import url('http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto+Condensed');
becomes
@import url('http://fonts.googleapis.com/css');
Yes, that is weird ...

I link to web fonts at the top of my stylesheet (edit the stylesheet using the internal text editor, or your preferred external editor).

Re: Any plans for adding markdown support?

I agree that direct import of markdown to Flare would be a useful feature - thanks for the commonmark link, wbrisett.

For the OP, it is a question of pulling source documentation directly into Flare. It could also provide an easier path for fast prototyping. I follow Nita Beck's excellent process ...

Re: Unable to open a recent project

Hi Umesh, welcome to the forums. My guess: if the project is stored on another drive or volume, make sure the drive or volume is connected. If it is not connected, you'll see the project listed in Recent Projects, but clicking it does nothing. Is the project on another drive or is it local?

Batch Topic Creation

I just submitted a feature request for a simple function to create a batch of new topics (with title and heading, but no content), using e.g. a csv list, to avoid plodding through the new topic dialog box again and again. I'd find this useful for setting up a framework of topics for a new project ...
