Re: Font changes to bold unexpectedly
I forgot to say, I filed a report at the time. It was accepted as bug report #30612. Keep your eyes peeled for the Capture update. I hope it is soon, and I hope this gets fixed.

Rob Hollinger says that an update to Capture is on the way, but I don't know when it is due or what is in the update.

Re: enlarge the working area... its too small to see
Hi Robin
Just in case the issue is screen real estate, not font size, you can close one or both of the side panels in Flare - the main window (editor) automatically expands to fill the space. You can then save your layout using the Window tab in the ribbon.

Steve, are "please explains" a government initiative, or a consumer thing? Is the government required to respond? Sounds good, if they are transparent.

Re: The problem with Flare's file sync and Capture
I am through with Adobe. Their customer service and website ux are abysmal. Great software, but their geo-locked, two-tier pricing is indefensible. Now I run Flare, Foxit, Inkscape, and Corel. Very happy.

Re: Flare 10.x - Some recent observations
Concerning 0.2px, is it possible to display that on a screen? I thought a pixel was the smallest display element. I assume that Flare indicates 0px because it knows it can't represent 0.2px on the screen, so it rounds it - to let you know the actual value that will be used.

Re: Can't crop a new image
Hi, are you creating the image using the New From Profile function?
If so, that method doesn't allow crop, it only lets you change the canvas size, as you have discovered. But it won't let you reduce the canvas size below the dimensions of any objects you have placed. As an alternative, you can ...

Re: The problem with Flare's file sync and Capture
Hi Shawn, ok, I see.
It should work if you are only ever editing the external files, and then syncing to the project files. If you edit a project file, you can of course skip syncing back to the external file. (But I agree that it is a pain to uncheck the boxes in the sync dialog if there are a lot ...

Re: Capture button is off the screen--how do I access it?
Hi MLT - understood. And of course, this is an issue with Capture. Using 125% is your prerogative, and Capture should support that (but it doesn't). Rob Hollinger confirms that there is an update to Capture scheduled, but I don't know when it will be available, or whether it will fix this issue ...

If the source image is updated, Flare's file sync won't work for any image edited in Capture. Flare is not aware of those Capture changes.

Re: I million possible arrow properties and few are useful
Hi Shawn.
I am also amazed at Capture's amazing green arrow. I managed to make one:
arrow.jpg
It's not quite as nice as your example, and you have to put up with Capture's non-dithered drop shadow. But at least you should be able to bend the arrow to your will :)

Re: Capture button is off the screen--how do I access it?
Hi MLT, welcome to the forum.
Just to confirm, is your screen set to more than 100%? I know you said that you can't reduce it, but it helps to clarify the situation.
As a workaround, are you able to use the full-screen or window hot-key capture modes? (You can also select them from the File > New ...

Good for you Shawn! After all issues we have been discussing, I thought you were still getting frustrated by Capture.

Re: Consistent Bubble size
Hi Shawn, I noticed that too. Sorry that it didn't work out. As Paul says, Capture is a capture tool, not an image editing suite. I have tried to resist that, and make Capture work harder, but it is frustrating when it fails like this. I really don't think it is just down to an intentionally limited ...

Re: MadCap Capture issues - caches old image!
Paul, I agree, if Shawn's process is fully automated, triggered by the script image dump, then Capture isn't going to get near that. I was hoping to get a little closer and clear some of the frustration that Shawn has. From what I see in this discussion, Shawn might be doing some manual editing ...

Hi Shawn and Paul - this is a good discussion.

Capture integration with Flare is brilliant. I'd love to see Capture get fit-for-purpose design and edit tools to support that.

Re: Capture v6 - Scale rounding error
This is certainly odd, but unfortunately Capture does lack precision in many aspects. Not being able to constrain lines/pointers to 90/45 degrees drives me nuts. At the same time, the amount of precision that you can put into sculpting a big green bendy arrow object is breathtaking (and useless ...

If you are using unlinked books with PDF output, you can Inject headings for unlinked books in TOC on the Advanced tab of the PDF target options. Does that work?
