Re: Spaces in cross reference
I found that this also happens with bold formatting. Not sure if it is actually a bug, but I sent it in anyway.

Hi Kathleen, welcome to the MadCap forum.
Those targets are sample targets that are provided as examples with one of the MadCap template projects (Online and Print Advanced, I think?).

If " Note : " is simple text, you can create a span with a border and span all the text.
If " Note : " is an autonumber, you might be able to use a div with display: inline-block , but I've never used that before and don't understand it properly, but the output is as you are requesting. There may ...

Re: Font changes to bold unexpectedly
Hi, I see this too.
After some tinkering, I suppose it is a bug.
It affects text both in rectangle objects and in bubbles.
It happens when the background of the object is set to transparent. (Callout 1 below.)
If the rectangle or bubble has a background colour assigned, it does not happen ...

Re: Using div instead of tables for responsive design. YES!
Thanks for the tip, Shawn, I just watched the webinar - I agree, a tremendous presentation from Mike, with some great foundation guidance on using stylesheets as well as how to set up responsive design.
The tables question is tricky. The first tip that Mike gives is to stop using tables for layout ...

Re: Capture doesn't 'remember' all bubble properties
Hi Shawn. Just a quick reply to your saving custom bubbles problem: after you have configured a bubble (or any object) in the work area, select the Palettes side panel (check that your MyPalette palette is visible or select it from the drop-down at the top of the panel), then drag your custom bubble ...

Re: using the <button> html-tag in flare
Hi. You could do this with Capture (free with Flare since v9 I think). Just add a text object to your default button image. The text is stored in a .props file along with the image, and can be sent to translation with your topics (the .props file is XML). So you only create and add each button image ...

Yes. You could have said that earlier, Dave!Would it not be a lot easier to just use the built-in CSH test?
But thanks

Glad we solved it, Shawn!
Thanks Lisa, I think I'll have a go at that. Complex selectors have been on my "wait, what?" list for a while.

Hi mojebabicka
I can see all images.

Re: Footnote text color
Hi Shawn, this might not be an elegant solution, but: Could you set the background of the footnote style to same colour as your page colour? Then your footnote number in the table would be visible, albeit not very attractively, and your footnote text at the bottom of the page would appear "normal ...

I don't think the HTML5 output can handle partial matches or wildcard searches. If there are common patterns that your users need to find, perhaps you can set up index entries?

Re: How to invoke WebHelp as popup?
Marie-Claire, this is what I did to simulate CSH:
1. Set up an alias file and a header file (I think this can be done semi-automatically).
2. Set up the intended browser size, position, and config (e.g. show/hide menus, toolbar, location bar, status bar, switch resize on or off). This is done in ...

Re: How to invoke WebHelp as popup?
You can set up an alias and header file (these are the CSH components) in your Flare project and then do a test on your own system with Dave's javascript tip, although you can still specify the dimensions in your Flare project, along with show/hide status bars etc. I did this last year to demo a ...

Hi Marie-Claire, I think popup here means invoked with context sensitive help (CSH). You can specify the size in Flare, but you'll need to set up CSH with your developer.

Re: margin-bottom ignored in IE11 after publishing
Thanks Ramon. The weird thing is that I just now closed IE and opened it again, and bingo... all ok. Very annoying. Previously I was doing CTRL+F5, which I thought was forced refresh. Oh well, lesson learned, and I will take your advice and get on with something else.

margin-bottom ignored in IE11 after publishing
I have an HTML5 project in Flare v10.1.
I have set "margin-bottom" on the p style to 10px. When I build and view locally, everything is ok (in all browsers). But when I publish, the margin is not displayed in IE11. It is ok in other browsers.
My font sizes have relative settings - % on body and ...

Re: Word Conversion of Drawing Canvases (Composite images)
Just for info: Capture is now bundled free with Flare (since 9 or 9.1?). Capture has the best integration with your Flare project (much less work to maintain images), but it does not have the best callout tools. It's swings and roundabouts.

Re: Import from Word 2013
I suppose that Acer Docs keeps a link to all Office docs in the cloud (for access from a tablet), and perhaps that link is a bit too aggressive for Flare, which is why I get the File Save dialog box. (Because Flare wants to do its own XML conversion work on the file?)

Hi Margaret - thanks!
