Hello all,
I am often finding that I need to open a second copy of Flare (the master document) in order to make small edits to its master documents. It would be nice that when I open a topic copied by Project Importer, I am offered the option to save any edits back to the source topic.
I have ...

Re: Duplicate footnote numbers per page - revisited
In what is becoming an annual tradition, I have submitted a new feature request for 2016.
I am a bit miffed because I had to do a document update where I removed a footnote which then changed the footnote values and I forgot to manually update the "faked" footnote values... I released a document ...

I certainly need it, primarily to get rid of a pageful of repreated footnotes in PDF.
Have submitted feature request.

Re: Footnotes value spacing (# spacing in text vs block)
It's a bit of a fudge, but if you get no further suggestions could you start your footnotes with a non-breaking space, so the space separates the number and the comment, but not the number from the following punctuation in the body of the topic?

Footnotes value spacing (# spacing in text vs block)
Hello all,
I have some breathing room to work on some documentation fine tuning. This one has bothered me for some time.
In order to place a space between the footnote number and the footnote comments, I needed to add a space after {n} in, mc-footnote-format: '{n} ';
However, this space also ...

Somewhat off-topic but I am framing this as something that Flare really needs!

Conditionals on images via Capture
I just begun using conditions within images (by way of MadCap Capture) and I must say, this works amazingly well. Kudos to the MadCap team.
But I have one wish... that is it would be nice to see an indicator on whether or not an image was 1) modified by Capture and 2) which conditions (color boxes ...

The best way I have found is to use offset numbers that are outside the head and add a corresponding margin.

Re: Annoying differences between Flare v11 and v12
The styles looks a bit dodgy to me. You appear to be setting the same inline width (640px) on both the div and the image that's supposed to be inside it; but as the div also has padding, then that's going to be impossible.
I'm not sure why it's different from v11 and v12, but you could press F12 ...

Re: Annoying differences between Flare v11 and v12
Another change that I am trying to correct is where I wrap screen captures inside a <div> tag box...
In v11 and earlier, the <div> tag box would automatically resize around the contained image. So even if my width was set too small, it would still result in a 'contained' image.

Re: Annoying differences between Flare v11 and v12
System Dates previously were based off the System Locale.
Now they are based off the Project/Target language.
This might explain the difference.
Thanks Rob but why isn't this noted in the release notes? http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/Content/Flare/General/GEN1052F_-_Flare_12_Release_Notes.htm ...

I'm all for upgrades but it isn't a great idea to make changes that affect projects written in prior versions of Flare; in my case, Flare v11. :( :x

Re: Collaboration with non-Windows SMEs?
In the meantime, I was thinking about the possibility of installing MadCap Contributor on a remote access Windows server that any SME can easily access from any type of workstation. Has anyone tried this?
Of course, it must be as easy to access as the current GDocs so that I don't inhibit reviews.

Collaboration with non-Windows SMEs?
Hello all,
It's been a long time since I talked about this topic and I was reminded about this pain-point with the latest Windows-only release of Contributor.

Was this issue ever fixed? It is still happening in 11.1.

I also seem to recall that this problem only appeared under certain conditions... I think it was a particular error in the HTML that caused Flare to remove all the HTML formatting.

Changing the page number color in tables and figures index?
Hello all,
I am tying to duplicate the style used by my index proxy, where the page number is a different color than the index text.
The page number color is controlled here:

I noticed that this H6 header also appeared in the index... this was undesirable and unintended. So, I added mc-heading-level: 0; to the header style but unfortunately, that also removed it from the page header.
