Cross-Reference Links Changing "&" to "&" [BUG-RESOLVED]

I just upgraded from Flare 11 to Flare 12.

What happens is this: My cross-reference links are rendering "&" as "&" in all places that utilize the ampersand. The links work correctly and the topic headings are not affected. Hyperlinks are also not affected, only cross-references. I published both ...

Re: Mouse over changes colour of text

Ogaleswapnil, I am running into the same problem. My text changes from whatever color it normally is to blue (the same color as one of my heading options) and increases in size. It does this only in Google Chrome version 47.0.2526.73.

All of my other browsers (Firefox, Safari, and IE10) are up to ...

Re: Flare Index Window Not Updating

Worked with the MadCap Support team to resolve this issue. It was something on the backend of my system that was causing the issue, and it is now resolved.

To resolve this issue:
1) Close Flare.
2) Browse to the folder with your Flare project using Windows Explorer
3) Delete the Analyzer and ...

Flare Index Window Not Updating [Resolved]

Hello,

I am using Flare v10.2.2.

The Index Window (View tab > Index Window) is not updating, but I am not sure why. Whenever I open and view the Index Window, some entries are populated with the assigned topics and some are not. The actual indexing itself is working when I publish my HTML5 project ...

D'oh. Thank you so much! I already utilize both methods, I just needed to expand my usage accordingly. This completely resolves my issue!

HTML5: Turn Off Search Across Outputs?

Hello,

I am using Flare 10. I have 1 project that I build and publish 2 different HTML5 outputs from. Whenever anyone uses the main search function, the results are pulled from both outputs. Is there a way to turn this off or prevent it? Ideally, I would like the search function to only pull ...

Importing HTML File Outside of Content Folder?

Hello,

I am using Flare v10, and outputting HTML5 web help.

I have a single HTML file that I need to import/upload & publish as part of my final output, but it does not need to be in the "Content" folder. I am able to build the desired output (HTML5 Webhelp), then manually add the HTML file to the ...

Re: Image transparency not honored in PDF

My workaround for v9 had been to not edit the transparent image in Flare at all. I just resized the image outside of Flare to be the exact size I need, then imported it into Flare as usual. Editing transparent images in Flare doesn't affect the web-based outputs, just the printed ones. Guess this is ...

HTML5 Output - Index Filter Not Working Correctly

Working in Flare v10.
Using HTML5 output and utilizing the Index feature.

Okay, so here is what is happening. Whenever I select an expanded index term, it pulls up the correct topic and everything. After selecting a term, I go to the index search box and type in new criteria. The filter appears to ...

Nicolas,

Thank you! That saved the day. I corrected the relative path and now the original .ico loads perfectly and works like a charm. Thanks again! I really appreciate it.

Re: Setting the favicon in the address bar or tab

That's not right.

BTW, A favicon can be in the following formats: ICO, PNG, GIF, aniGIF, JPG, APNG, or SVG (compatibility varies with different browsers)

Due to browser caching, there should be many examples of favicon.ico images on your computer. Have a look at other examples? Can you see them ...

Re: Setting the favicon in the address bar or tab

Hello,

I have followed nzinopoulos's steps for the favicon, but I can't get past a certain point.

I've implemented the JQuery code in the HTML5 skin, and I've added a dummy class to the main stylesheet. However, whenever I build and publish, the icon doesn't show up. It looks like it wants to, but ...

Re: Index Entry Popup Text Color

I contacted Flare Support for further instruction, and they provided me with some useful information.

As of now, there is not a way to edit the index popup entry links in Flare, but this can be done in the output files, or the source files. If this is done in the output files, it will have to be ...

I have tried to edit the HTML5 skin, too, but I guess I'm missing the right attribute I'm supposed to be editing. Do you know which one affects the index popup?

Re: Index Entry Popup Text Color

Hi Allison, I've had similar issues with x-refs. In your output, if you click the index link, and then go back and call up the index pop-up again, does the colour change work properly?

Atomdocs,
I tried your suggestion, but the color didn't change/update. I even refreshed multiple times and left ...

Index Entry Popup Text Color

I'm working in an HTML5 output using Flare v10.

A few of my index entries contain multiple topics, so I'm currently utilizing the index entry popups. As it stands, the current hover color is black, but I would like it to be red. I have attempted to edit the "Index Entry Popup" style in the Default ...

Re: Blurry & Distorted Images in PDF Output

Check that you are not falling foul of the "Automatically resize low DPI images" setting.
Under File > Options > General tab ... at the bottom of the list is a checkbox "Automatically resize low DPI images", which is checked by default in Flare 10. Uncheck this and the behaviour of images returns ...

Blurry & Distorted Images in PDF Output

Hello,

I am using Flare v10 to produce a PDF output. I have a small .png image (40px by 40px) that keeps coming out blurry and larger when I build the PDF output.

What I don't understand is this: In Flare v9, I did not have this issue. The image displayed in both HTML5 and PDF output with no ...

Scaling for Videos in Popup Windows?

Hello,

I am producing an HTML5 output, working in Flare v9. I have uploaded a video to my Flare project and have hyperlinked to it in a topic. I've set the Target Frame to be "Popup Window." This part looks great; however, the popup window is too small for the video content.

My question is: Is ...
