I have a new version of a TOC which worked before; however, I get multiple errors of the following type:
"Missing linked source file".
When I open the topics directly from the TOC, they open fine, so the TOC entry is obviously correct.

Issue with condition tags with spaces not being quoted
I've set up condition tags, most of which have spaces in them and work fine. If I exclude such a condtion tag in the target, it is wrapped in quotes:
ConditionTagExpression="exclude["Dublin.Condition Tag "
etc.
These work fine. However, I just tried excluding another such tag and when I ...

Possible to automatically format the "Text Editor" view?
I often work with the underlying XML of topics in the Text Editor. However, sometimes the XML there is truncated or poorly formatted in some other way and so hard to work with.
Is there a way of automatically formatting this XML that's I've missed, or is there a way of externally doing it?
Thanks ...

Re: ORing and ANDing conditions
Thanks all. I was hoping there was a way to avoid the advanced box; although my example only shows two version conditions and one other condition, in reality I have 5 version numbers (and rising) and about 10 other conditions. You can only imagine how byzantine the advanced conditions would be.

ORing and ANDing conditions
Hi all,
I've hit a problem where material is tagged with both version numbers and with components. The problem is that the method used means that version numbers should be considered ORed while components should be considered ANDed. That is, if material is tagged "Version1 Only" and "Version 2 Only ...

Tips for rationalising conditional tags
We currently have 18 conditional tags in use in our guides (related to either version-specific or client-specific information) and it's all gotten a bit unwieldly:
1) One issue is that by default, Madcap Flare includes all material. So when a new tag is added and material is tagged, we have to go ...

"Find and Replace" problems (can't find/greyed out)
I'm running into a lot of problems with using Find and Replace in Flare 9.1.2. A lot of the time, it simply doesn't find the specified text even in the same topic. I've gone as far as to reboot and reload, but finding a piece of text is complete pot-luck; one piece of text will be found in a topic ...

Reverse from marked for deletion (subversion?)
I'm using Flare 9 with SVN. I accidentally marked file for deletion but realised I shouldn't check in that change. However, I have no idea how to undo the deletion. Since the file no longer shows up in Content Explorer, I can't right-click on it to see if there are any applicable options. I tried a ...

I had read elsewhere that Flare intend to do this but hadn't seen anything official. Will ask and see how they respond.

Flare & Native DITA Support
Is there any timeline for Flare _natively_ supporting DITA? We've having discussions about moving to that standard and it would be helpful to know if our timeframe for migration means we could actually stay with Flare (my preference) rather than using another tool.

Ah thanks - yes, you're right, the error is due to the fact that file is locked because it hasn't been checked out.

Hi all,
I'm having the same problem with Flare 9 - cannot insert a cross-reference to anything lower than a h3. Has this been resolved in a later version?

I'm trying to figure out what is best practise for when you have a topic which has different content for different versions of a product.

Check-In comment: Can [Return] specify line-break?
I'm used to TortoiseSVN where one can insert line breaks in check-in comments using [Return]. In Madcap Flare, this automatically submits the comment. Meaning I often submit a check-in accidentally without a full comment. Is there any way to configure this behaviour?

Being prompted to check in file even though no diff
I often get the case where, even though I have not edited a file, the 'red check' icon is shown and, when I perform a check-in, they are shown as "edit". Yet when I check using diff, they are shown as completely identical. Anyone know why Flare will show such files as having changed when they didn't ...

Re: Title page not appearing in Word output
If you've used image frames and/or decoration frames on the title page layout, you're out of luck if you're outputting to Word. Flare's Word (and FrameMaker) output does not support image frames or decoration frames. I found notes stating this in this topic in the Flare 10 Help system: http ...

Re: Issue with appendix heading numbering
On you're right. Have done this using the "Chapter Number" panel of the "Auto-numbers" tab for the properties. But now both appendices use incorrect numbering and both begin with 0 (even though ALPHA (A,B,C) is specified for both _and_ the 2nd appendix has "Increment Number" specified.

My chapter numbering is working fine, but my appendix numbering isn't. Unfortunately the Flare Autonumber Guide hasn't been able to help me.
