Arrow missing from glossary popup link when published

I've created a sample project using a glossary and popup entries and it looks fine when I build the target. However when I publish the target to a server, the arrow disappears. (see images 1 and 2). Any idea why this might happen?

Re: Why is "autonum" being added to headings?

The mc-heading-level attribute doesn't have anything to do with the auto-numbering. That said, it is applicable to print documentation, so it's not a bad idea to move it to the Print medium.

Back to the auto-numbering, I see that in the Print medium, there is a auto-number defined. So, I return to ...

Re: Why is "autonum" being added to headings?

First I'll ask some questions. Does the project contain multiple stylesheets and in one stylesheet is h2 defined without an auto-number but in another it is defined with an auto-number? Or, if there is only one stylesheet, is h2 define in one medium without an auto-number but in another medium with ...

Why is "autonum" being added to headings?

We're a team who works on the same documentation using the same projects, stylesheets, etc.

However, when some of the team edit documents, "Madcap:autonum" is added to headings:

For example:

<h2 MadCap:autonum="0.1">Heading 2<a name="heading2></a></h2>

When another member edits the same file ...

Can't turn off "overwrite" mode

I'm not sure if this a recent issue, but: occasionally I hit the Insert button by accident while using the XML Editor in Flare and it will change to overwriting text rather than inserting it. The problem is that I then can't turn it off; hitting Insert again does not toggle back from overwriting to ...

Including text files within topics?

I'd like to have text files containing code stored in my project so that:

* For printed material, the text file is included inline within the topic
* For online help, the text file (let's assume it's called example.json) is accessed via a hyperlink and can be downloaded

Obviously the second part ...

Word: "Build failed: Generation of output can not be...."

My company has just started using the built-in data classification for DLP as implemented in Microsoft Word 365. However this has the side-effect of stopping Flare from generating Word output. When I try I get:

"Build failed: Generation of output can not be completed.

Command failed."

Word: "Build failed: Generation of output can not be...."

Hi all,

We're suddenly getting the following error when we try to build Word targets:

Build failed: Generation of output can not be completed.

This is happening to the team so it's not a local environment issue. It's also happening on older Flare projects which had been generating Word versions ...

Flare readds branches deleted via git command line

We use Flare with git and I was wondering why old branches were popping up again.

I noticed that if I delete a branch both remotely and locally using the command line (say "git branch -D branch_name), then re open Flare, Flare seems to recreate the branch again locally.

Is there any way to stop ...

Basing image & table numbering on H1 numbering not {chapnum}

Previous we used the following for numbering:

mc-auto-number-format: 'GH:{n+} ';
}

div.figure p.figurecount
{
mc-auto-number-format: 'CF:{b}Figure {chapnum}.{Cn+}: {/b}';

Re: Having stylesheets that turn on and off chap page breaks

It sounds like these are for print outputs? If so, you should be able to set page breaks in the TOC by choosing the page layout to use for each topic (e.g. new chapter and non-chapter topics). Then, if you need different page breaks for different outputs, you could set up and assign different TOCs ...

Having stylesheets that turn on and off chap page breaks

Hi all

I had two set up two styles sheets for use with manuals:

* The second is identical except that there are no page breaks before chapters

The simple fix initially was simply to page-break-before: avoid ...

Re: Page break after TOC?

A clumsy way could be to create a special H1 class, say H1_First_Chapter, and add page-break-before: always; to your stylesheet for that class, then apply it only to the first H1 after your TOC. Would that work for you? Others might come up with a more flexible way, so don't take this as the only ...

I've put this JavaScript into a file caption.js ...
