Does anyone know if this is still an issue with footnotes?
I just came across this while working in a table, I have headings that are text pop-ups that I've choose to expand to footnotes in print output. However, it keeps numbering the footnote as 1 when it should go 1, 2, 3, etc. Is this a ...

Best Practice: Mark as New Removal
I have not yet started using the "mark as new" indicator for new topics so am wondering if anyone has any best practices or suggestions. I'm struggling with deciding when to remove the indicator, when the topic is no longer considered "new". Is there a time frame or a best practice?
Thanks!

Re: single-sourcing images for PDF and WebHelp
It looks like the max width currently set is to 4 inches. I'm not as familiar with DPI settings. There's so many options I guess I don't know which is standard to use (see options below) and to know what numbers to set.

Re: single-sourcing images for PDF and WebHelp
I forgot to mention I'm not using Flare's image editor, I'm using the screenshot tool SnagIt. I've been creating two images just different sizes and conditioning them one for print and one for online only.

Preview Print Output and conditioned images
Hello,
I'm trying to preview the PDF/print output using the Layout (Print) and Medium (print). I have conditioned images for web only and they are still showing in the print layout. Is there a way to preview how the final output will look with conditions applied?
Thanks!

Re: single-sourcing images for PDF and WebHelp
I have a slightly different question. I'm trying to understand how to single source images for PDF and HTML but make the size different for PDF. For the online help I use thumbnails for images so sizing on the webpage doesn't matter as much but when printing, some of the images are hard to read and ...

Re: PDF Output TOC Topic Names
Yes, that's the option I'm using.
Is the topic file name the H1 title when you open it or the file name in the Content Explorer? I've noticed you can also change the name as it appears in the TOC by changing the "label".

Re: PDF Output TOC Topic Names
I'm not sure that I'm explaining clearly, let me try again. :)

PDF Output TOC Topic Names
I am wanting to change the name of the topics in the PDF TOC slightly different than how I have the topics named in the Content Explorer. I am able to right click the topic in the TOC and change the label, but it does not keep this label the next time I build and if I add/remove topics from the TOC ...

Re: Inserting Snippet in List
I have V8 and it's slightly different. I have to click the eye icon in the XML toolbar at the top for code view, but I'm still trying to figure out how to remove certain tags in codes as it doesn't allow me to easily delete.

The code view does not let me delete the extra <li> tag, it says <li+> which I've never seen the plus in a tag before.

Re: unable to save changes to stylesheet
I'm having a similar issue only mine is that the changes are saved and when I go to use the updated style, it's not updated with the new change even though in the stylesheet it shows it as saved. I have closed Flare completely and reopened and tried to use again and it's still using the old style ...

Inserting Snippet in List
I am trying to insert a snippet that's part of a bulleted list in another list, only indented. I'm having trouble getting this to work properly. Is there a better way to insert a snippet in a list without it creating an extra bullet?

Glossary Terms inline
I'm creating PDF output and am trying to figure out how to make the glossary terms be inline text rather than footnotes. Is this done in the stylesheet or another area of properties?
Thanks!

Re: Linking to Build of Drafts
Thanks for the reply.
In my published target, I can click on a topic and copy the link to the specific html page. When I do that in the built target, the topic for the link I right click on specifies it's for that specific topic, yet it opens to the intro start-up topic, so I have to drill down ...

I'm thinking it's because it's only built and not published. It works for my published output just not for the built draft output.

Good catch, that worked! You were right, there should be no spaces in the image name or the TOCEntry name. Thank you!!

Re: How do you change icons on TOC?
First, I'm not sure what you mean by the Navigation section. I have Navigation Panel that shows TOC but can't add a class to it. Then I have just TOCEntry where the icons were blank by default, I was able to add a class to that called PDF TOC.

No, you can that with v4. I don't think it was available in v3, but it might be.

I'm using the free review mode of Contributor and I thought it would apply the conditions but it really doesn't. Hello,
I am trying to create a mini-TOC in a topic for web output. When I go to preview, it doesn't show the topics that are supposed to appear there. Is there a way to get them to appear? Thanks!
