This is an intranet based website so there shouldn't be any security concerns but I'm not sure.
To better describe, this is what I mean. Instead of giving someone a link to view a topic, it would be nice to be able to direct them to a specific folder. So for example on the image, I'd like to give ...

Linking to folder vs topic
Is there any way you can link to a folder in the online output TOC rather than a specific topic?
Thanks!

External Resource PDF as topic
Hello,
I am wondering if there's a way to identify an PDF external resource that has been added to a Flare project as a PDF with an icon rather than an icon that looks like a regular Flare topic.
For example, when I add the PDF to my Flare project, in the content explorer, you can easily identify ...

Re: Conditions don't apply to tables
I'm trying to put a condition tag on one cell in a column, when I apply it to the td block, it applies the tag to the whole row. Is it possible to just apply a condition tag to one cell?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: External Resources - PDF
Hello,
I checked the advanced settings and that option is not checked, so it must be a browser issue. I'll just note the best browser to use to view external resources via the online help is Google Chrome.
Thanks for your response!

External Resources - PDF
I've been noticing that when I add an external resource (usually a PDF) to the online help and go to view the PDF once it's published, if I click on it, it will get stuck and I can't click on another topic. I only noticed this in IE, in Google Chrome it seems to work fine.

Cover/End/Back page Best Practice
Hello,
I'm new to making pay layouts and associating them with my topics in the TOC.
What is the best practice for making an end page? I have a title page, left page, right page, and an empty page.
So far the only way I've figured out how to make a back end/cover page is by creating a topic.

Toggler Image
Hello, I am thinking of changing the toggler image. I went into the style settings and it shows that the current image being used is in the resources > Images folder but I go there and cannot find it. It shows it's in a WebHelp folder but that folder doesn't exist in my project.

Does anybody know if you can put conditions on certain columns or rows in a table rather than the whole table? I'm having trouble figuring out how but maybe it can't be done.
Thanks!

This is helpful info, thank you!

Re: Printing web topics
Alternatively you might want to think about creating a 'print friendly' version of all your online topics by copying them and using regular images instead of thumbnails and providing a link to the 'print friendly' version in each topic. If you have a lot of content, you could think about performing ...

I tried doing this in one topic where I need to replace a note style. This is what I tried but it didn't find any matches to replace.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to exclude the parenthesis?
Also what about styles that have this in it in the text editor: li ...

Re: Share Note/Tips/Important/Example Styles
I have a p.note style that I use for single-paragraph notes. Then I have a div.note style that I use when I want to create a note with multiple paragraphs (or multiple notes in a bullet list). In this case, the div.note style has the note styling (the borders and background color) and you would use ...

Re: Share Note/Tips/Important/Example Styles
You can look at MadCap's styles to see how they've done it.
To look at HTML/CSS, I'd suggest using the Firebug add-on for Firefox, or the built-in developer tools in IE or Chrome (press F12)
That will give you most of the styles; the only thing to add is the 'note' text which will come from an ...

You can also view/copy the stylesheet for the Flare 9 online help at http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare9/Content/Resources/Stylesheets/styles.css. Their stylesheet has p.note, p.note1, p.note2, p.note3, p.note4, etc.

I've done this twice now where I've edited a current style in the Master Stylesheet, but when I save it, the topics that were using the style before it was edited do not automatically update the new style like I want it to. I also renamed the style (don't know if that makes a difference). The edited ...
