Re: Printing web topics
Alternatively you might want to think about creating a 'print friendly' version of all your online topics by copying them and using regular images instead of thumbnails and providing a link to the 'print friendly' version in each topic. If you have a lot of content, you could think about performing ...

Re: Printing web topics
That's okay. I put a feature request in as a suggestion to be able to do this in Flare without having to use Capture to do it.

Share Note/Tips/Important/Example Styles
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share the way you style your notes, examples, tips, etc. I've seen these done with a border or a background color, but I haven't quite decided if I like the way mine is currently setup.

Re: Printing web topics
It's nice that you can print a topic, but in order to print the image thumbnails in full view, you can only single source images if you use Capture, which I don't, I use SnagIt. I also read that you can put conditional tags on images, but that would be a pain. You would have to include two images ...

Re: Printing web topics
These modals also contain a link that will launch the full webhelp instance in a separate browser window if the user needs/wants more information. Pretty neat setup so far. Our hope is to expand the use of these modals to introduce new features the first time a user logs in after the feature was ...

Re: Printing web topics
Hi Dave,
I'm not sure it would be necessary for the users to see the navigation and toolbar. When they print the web output, they only see the content of the topic, nothing outside of it, which is fine for their purposes since they are only printing one topic at a time.

Re: Printing web topics
Typically, my company only uses the print button on the web output to print one topic. Not very many people that I know of print our online output, only a select few choose to print a topic when they desire. So there really would be no need for me to create a print output just for the select few ...

Printing web topics
The main purpose of the current topics I create are for web-based output, however, some users like to print the web topics. So far, they have been able to print them directly from the web without me creating another output just for print.

That helps a lot, thank you!

Re: Script for output?
Thanks, Dave.
I'm more concerned on why there is a script file showing up under the topics in my content explorer. I don't see this script file in my other Flare project so I'm not sure what it's doing there. I've attached a picture so you can see what I'm referring to.

There are also several scripts showing up in the output folder:
Script file names:
csh
User_guide_draft
Then...in the Resources folder, there's a Scripts folder that contains 3 other scripts
jquery.min
MadCapAll
plugins.min

Re: Script for output?
Here's an update..I was researching and testing a little more and found that when I built the project with my new changes, it built an output folder with the new link to the output file, so I was able to see my changes by opening the html output file. I updated the output folder location and removed ...

Hello,
I'm working in a new Flare project for the first time that was already created by a previous employee. This project doesn't have a destination for publishing. However, there's a link to a draft html page that shows all of the topics in this project. I also found a script that was added to ...

Multiple users building and publishing?
Hello,
I am wondering if multiple people can be working in Flare at the same time and how that works when building/publishing?
So far, I've been the only one at my company using Flare and building/publishing, however, we just hired a new employee that will be doing this as well.

Broken link to a stylesheet
In my error report when I'm building, I keep getting an error for a broken link on a topic. I go into my project analysis and under broken links the topic shows up, then usually when I open a topic it will highlight the broken link but in this case it doesn't, it shows in the Linked to: the broken ...

Re: Build Error Messages
Also I just noticed something interesting..I renamed the folder and was able to open the project from the newly renamed folder after I built and published, however, then it automatically created a folder with the old name and it also has a Flare project in it...I'm wondering why...this is very odd.
