Re: Has Madcap announced end of support for Flare 12?
I'd be interested in knowing if you received an answer. I work in Flare version 11. I do not have a maintenance package, therefore, don't receive new updates. However, I think Madcap technical support will help resolve technical questions as long as you own a license to the product.

Re: Image Map issue
I have Flare 11.1 and I don't get the Image Map option at all. Is there a certain version of Flare you must have to use this feature? When I right click, Image Map is disabled or greyed out. I only have the Hyperlink Image option.

I'm curious what program you use to make gifs such as the ones you included in your post? I've never made gifs nor have a budget to purchase a new program but would like to know what's available. Thanks!

Re: dealing with TBDs
I take a similar approach as you do and write the TBD content in the topic and condition it as red "draft" text. Sometimes, I will add an annotation as a note to myself, then come back to it later and delete it. Either way, it stands out as something I need to address. But, then you have to remember ...

Re: Web Contact Form
I'm interested as well! Right now, we have a feedback button in our topic toolbar at the top of each topic. That allows a user to email us directly, with the subject about the specific topic they were on when they clicked that feedback button. But, we also have a single "Contact Us" page with our ...

Re: top-nav feedback by topic
No, we don't have Pulse and are able to use this feature. If you go to the Project Organizer, check the Skins folder to see if there's a skin called "Topic Toolbar", if not you can add a new one and modify it from there. I would have to search more in Flare's help to remember how to implement it. I ...

Re: Displaying unlinked entry in TOC but not in document its
I'm not sure; but what I do is have divider pages that act as a new section, and that divider topic has only the section name (H1) in it, but that page still shows up in my output.
Could you put "Notices" in a topic as H1 and every topic under it as H2? Or do you not want Notices to be anywhere in ...

Re: top-nav feedback by topic
Yes, I'm pretty sure this is possible. We have the Topic Toolbar setup to include the feedback button. When you're on a topic and you click the feedback button, an email opens and the Subject reads "Feedback (Topic: Glossary), for example.

Unused Images Report and PDFs
Hi, there are pdf files showing up in my unused images report. Does anyone know why? The only filter I have selected is "unused images". Does this mean the pdf file is not being used (i.e. not in a toc and not published anywhere)?

V11 Preview PDF error
I'm using Flare V11.1 and when I try to preview topics in the XML editor, I get an error. I can preview HTML output fine, but when I select to preview with a PDF target that's when I get the error, "This page can't be displayed". This has been going on for several months now and I'm not sure what ...

Re: Formatting entry in printed TOC for a PDF I added?
Yes. Actually, I was able to get an image of the cover and insert that into a page layout, so it ended up working out ok. However, I have another external PDF I need in my manual but am going to end up adding the PDF separately in Adobe to my Flare PDF output. I have section divider pages that start ...

Re: Formatting entry in printed TOC for a PDF I added?
I'm having the same issue. Does anyone know of a fix? I don't have a Flare page for my title page because I'm using a PDF for a cover page. So, I added the PDF as an external resource to my Flare project and added that to the TOC as my title page.

Re: Empty Page After Title Page
I'm not sure I follow exactly what you are trying to do, but if you are associating a topic with a page in your page layout file, then that page must contain a body frame (where the topic text would go), even if the topic itself is empty and has no text. Otherwise Flare gets knotted up, and adds a ...

I'm having a similar yet different issue with the Preview window. When I try to Preview in the print medium, I get an error and I can't preview at all.
