Re: Left Table indentation to get table in line with list

smajors, I think you'll just have to have a play with the numbers and discover the best one by trial and error. You might also want to have a series of table classes, e.g. table.level1, table.level2, table.level3 etc, and have the left margin set differently for each table so that when you have a ...

Re: Left Table indentation to get table in line with list

You might, however, want to make a table class in your main stylesheet, e.g. "table.outdent" and set the left margin as a negative number, then apply class="outdent" to the table that you insert at that point. That should make the table go to the left margin of the page, not just the left margin of ...

Re: Left Table indentation to get table in line with list

The table does belong to the "Producers..." bullet so ideally it would go underneath but because this list has so many sub-levels, I had to make a paragraph under the bullet and move it as far left as possible because it's such a large table (3 columns with 2 tables within it) it is the only way to ...

Re: Left Table indentation to get table in line with list

This is the code I'm seeing, but when I try to remove the extra <li> and <ul> tags, it causes an error in the body but don't know why or how to fix it.

Re: Left Table indentation to get table in line with list

I'm trying to add a table in an unordered list, under a bullet, and then have the list continue, but it is not working. I've tried using a div but then the list below the table does not align correctly with how it's supposed to. I have to move the table as far left as possible because it's a rather ...

Re: Images - Web to Print

I usually set Maximum Width to 600px and Height to Automatic . If you have a lot of images, you can also do this in your stylesheet. In the Stylesheet Editor , set the Medium to Print and set the img styles max-width: 600px and max-height:auto .

Can you set the max-width to auto? How do you know ...

Different versions

I have been using Contributor v4 with Flare v10 but noticed there's a newer version of Contributor (v7) so am using the free mode to see if there are any differences. I haven't noticed any drastic differences that would warrant me to request all SMEs and contributors to update from v4 to v7. Am I ...

hyperlink error

I'm getting a 404 - server error when trying to hyperlink to a specific topic in the web output but can get to the topic by navigating there directly from the current published location (company intranet). The topic links also have some weird jargon at the end, it looks like it has to do with the ...

Re: Flare v10 - Crashes

Yup, I'm in the crashing boat.
Flare can crash 10+ times in a day (depending on what I'm doing and how much I'm using Flare). Recently I've been having issues renaming files and I get the 'submit crash report' to Flare window. Not sure who gets to handle all the crash reports but I'm keeping them ...

Re: Link Viewer broken?

I tried a different folder and it worked, so I went back to the other folder and now it's working. So strange! I don't know why it was doing this or why that fixed it. I did not have the lock button on.

Link Viewer broken?

I'm in the images folder trying to use the Link Viewer to see what topics the image(s) are in but the "linked from" is showing no incoming links. When I go to the topic to find the image it is there so not sure why the link viewer is not working. I've rebooted the computer and have closed Flare and ...

Re: Broken link - XML file?

Yes, I was using find and replace. And now I keep getting the error "A new guard page for the stack cannot be created" when doing a find and replace, then Flare closes. I had started this to fix broken links from the link report and found that some old file tags were deleted and were still acting as ...

Broken link - XML file?

I generated a broken link report for an online help project and when I go to open the htm topic I get a pop-up message stating the file is not an XML file and asks if I want to convert to XML. I am now testing other topics in that folder and the topic directly below this one is giving me the same ...

Web Preview and CSS glitch?

I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with preview not always applying the correct CSS, but when publishing it's correct. So far I have this issue with expanding text in some instances, it looks like the font size is different in the preview but when I publish, it publishes correctly. This ...

Re: Issues when printing WebHelp topics

I'm having a similar issue. If you have togglers you have to click expand all for the content to print, but when doing this the font size is reduced and does not print well. Are there settings that can be changed for the print toolbar option?

Re: repeated footnotes

@sdcinvan,

Do you know if Flare does mini releases/updates throughout the year to existing Flare versions, or do they wait to implement new updates and features in a totally new version? For example, if there is something minor that needs fixed in Flare v10, would they fix that and have a way for ...

Re: Table properties

I could be wrong, but I think the table is simply to wide for the width of the page. I ran into this on one document a while back and ended up creating a landscape page layout and assigning it to the pages with wide tables. Worked out well but was an adventure in learning for a couple days. :)

I ...

Re: repeated footnotes

I'd rather not go through the work of a manual work around because the print output is only being used for SME reviews in meetings. The content is expected to be read as online help so footnotes aren't really necessary for the main purpose of this document.

I'll also put in a feature request.

Table properties

Does anyone know what setting(s) I need to change for this table to make the headings and cells auto fit or fit on one line rather than wrapping to a second line? I've tried looking at the auto fit properties and nothing changes. This is for print output. Or is the table just too large to be able to ...
