Re: Include image from heading in TOC
If you can create your icon as a Unicode character instead of an image, that may work in the TOC. Be aware, though, that the TOC typically drops formatting from the heading in the topic, so you are going to be limited to characters that exist in whatever font you are using for the TOC.

Re: Revised doc without changing identifiers--how do I fix?
I assume you are talking about the Identifier you can see in the alias editor, which is one of the ways you can create context-sensitive help. These identifiers should not normally change or get attached to different topics unless you change them directly, so I am not clear how you ended up with ...

Re: Advice for show more show less drop downs
I don't know that there is an easy way to change the text. But you can set the mc-closed-image and mc-open-image attributes of the MadCap|dropDown style to images with text similar to this to achieve that effect.

Re: Cross refrence link name changed
Your cross-references are probably set up to copy the title of the linked topic, so that is replacing the anchor text in your document. The problem is that your topics all have the title "Why sample" so you need to fix the topics to have correct titles.
Alternatively, it is possible that your ...

Re: System variable for path-independent references?
Try to simply the directory structure you are making. Images and Stylesheets do not have to go into separate folders inside Resources, and your topics do not need to be in folders nested three levels deep. Just make one layer of folders under Content, and all image links will look like ../images ...

It's not a valid color because the code has 5 hexadecimal digits. To be valid, it has to have 3, 6, or another multiple of 3 characters after the #.
It's not showing up because it's not valid. Search for it in the source for the .css file and the page.

Re: Condition tags not working in TOC
I understand your concern, but using snippets (and two topics whose content is mostly in a snippet) is the right way to do what you want. If you only have one topic and one output, the output only has one topic which can only appear with one set of content.
Besides that, using the same topic more ...

It seemed to work for me. I have a table in my PDF output which has a header that would have been orphaned if not for this. I don't know if there are other differences, such as the use or lack thereof of thead tags, which affect this.

Re: Migrating from HTMLHelp (CHM) to HTML5/Top-Nav CSH
You don't mention it, but if you have modular CHM help (where multiple CHM files make up one help system), that's not going to work with top nav, which doesn't support merging the output of multiple projects. That is OK in HTML5 tripane.

Re: Vertical Align Text in a Div Tag
bm2i, I think you are right about that. This is making the "number" label a floating element left of the main div content, and this probably causes it to always float to the top of the box. If there is not another positioning option that works for you, try using mc-autonumber-class , which assigns a ...

Do you mean that the TOC pane is empty, or that it is not displayed and you are seeing only the topic?

So what you really want is conditional styles.
One way to do this is to have two different style sheets. In this case, you'd make a variant of p.chapterFirst which have the white font in one stylesheet and black in the other and is applied to the paragraphs in this topic. You can set the target ...

It should be possible to do that with some custom javascript in the skin which looks for this parameter and loads the appropriate images. I think those images are set in CSS, so you'd probably be having your javascript write CSS to the page which overrides the original.

Re: Advice: Breaking one project into three
You may be better off using conditional formatting to exclude the content you don't want in the new project, and generate everything with two different targets in the same project.
You can do conditional formatting in the TOC also to deal with the two different structures for part of the TOC.
