Re: Build that includes only a few files
Yeah, I know that and can do that, but they (and I) prefer the online version, which looks exactly like the production version. My project takes 15-20 minutes to build, and anytime I add more than a few topics for review, most of the project gets linked in, so the build takes a lot longer, and the ...

Build that includes only a few files
I have a large Flare project with a number of targets and TOCs. When I create or update a topic or group of related topics, I build a "review" version and ftp-publish it to an internal site for the engineers to review.
The issue: my topics include links to other topics, which include links to other ...

Re: Modify list style within table-styled table
Actually, I figured it out, and it was as simple as it should be. I opened the ComparisonTable.css file, and discovered that under the /* Cell Styles */ comment, it is addressing the table as .TableStyle-ComparisonTable.
So I was able to define this in my standard stylesheet, and it works:

Modify list style within table-styled table
I used the table style editor to create a Flare table style called 'ComparisonTable', which works great.
However, I'm at a loss as to how to modify a style within a table that has been styled with a TableStyle stylesheet.
For example, if I want to have a bullet list that uses a square bullet ...

Re: V12 Update released June 1st
My install went fine, it seemed to work fine with Git, but every time I close a bound project or quit Flare after working on a bound project, it hangs up and Windows asks me to kill it.

Re: Is it me, or is it Flare?
Nita,
Thanks so much, and sorry for the delayed response.
It does work, though I've been "attached" to that smart move option for a long time. I'll try to get used to not having it (with that enabled, the default button in any dialog is automatically selected, so a press of the enter key quickly ...

Re: Is it me, or is it Flare?
It's not new in 12, but it seems to be worse. I don't notice it on my laptop (with touchpad), though I use that a lot less frequently than I do my desktop.
I guess I'm glad you don't ever see it, for your sake
thanks,
g

Is it me, or is it Flare?
I've had this problem with Flare since I started using it; just decided to find out if there's something particular about my computing environment that causes this issue or if others have the same issue.

Anyone using Flare for an open-source docs project?
I've been asked to look into how to best manage documentation for an open source database project. I've not yet had time to give it much thought, and I'm wondering if anyone is using Flare for such a purpose?

Adjust position of navigation panel pullout?
This is for the top-nav skin, Flare 12.
The nav panel pullout icon seems to always be set to align vertically with the middle of the header. I'd like to move it to the top (in this project, I'm not using a top menu), but can't find a style that allows me to do that.

Is there a way to mark a file as changed?
I'm fairly new to source control with Flare. I'm using Git.
When I update files using my favorite text editor, Flare doesn't realize that the file needs to be marked as modified in source control. I can open a file and make a simple change to force the issue, it seems like I should be able to right ...

Auto numbered rows in table
I wanted to create a table style that automatically numbers the first cell in each row, and with a little CSS research, I was able to make that work (code is below). The issue is that Flare's XML editor displays the table so badly that I didn't think it was working. It works, but I'm wondering if ...

Re: GIT Confusion
Okay, well I finally got it to work, and may have a clue: when you create a new repository (repo) in GitHub, Git encourages you to create a read me in the repo.
I had tried deleting that readme in Git, but Flare still wouldn't sync with that repo. I then tried creating a public repo instead of the ...

GIT Confusion
I'm really struggling with GitHub integration in Flare. I'm using Flare 12, and have successfully set up 3 projects in Git, each in its own repository. Once this is working, everything is great: commits, pushes, pulls, etc all work just as they should, and it's great.

Thank you to Dave Lee and all in the forums for this fix.
Heavy pressure from above to get this fixed as of yesterday, and the @namespace in the stylesheet works fine. Whew!

Well, I'm not a Pulse user, but I've used analytics for a couple businesses for a long time. If you advertise on Google, analytics is free and works very well.

Re: Google Analytics Events and Tracking User-Entered Search
I'm confused from reading this thread, at least partially because I don't know what is up to date, especially for those of us using a topnav project.

TOC to spreadsheet ?
I need to produce a spreadsheet that presents the hierarchy of topics/top-level headings in a large docs project, i.e. like a fully expanded table of contents. We're working with a project that contains 5 "books" packaged into one top-nav HTML5 web. We also generate separate PDF for each book.

Great idea. And it works.
I was so hung up on thinking about how to get that info from within Flare itself, that the simpler, more obvious solution never entered my mind.
Thank you very much,
Gary

any way to script this?
I have a "Home" button on my top-nav topic toolbar skin. The script for this button uses a hard-coded URL and works fine for the released version, e.g.
function GoHome() {window.location.replace('http://doc.mydomain.com/home.html');}
