Re: Bitbucket binding problem

It’s already bound so doesn’t need to be bound again. Instead, they need to do an import from source control operation. Sorry so brief. Am on vacation!

If I recall correctly, I’ve published PDFs back into the project and just ignored the message. I’m going on memory; don’t have access to Flare right now.

Re: auto end left page not working before a non-chapter brea

I think I would set a chapter break on the divider item, but in its TOC properties, on the Auto-number tab (or whatever it’s called; I’m going on memory), set the chapter number to the “same as previous” option (however that’s worded). That way, the next true chapter will be numbered correctly ...

Re: Post-build event not copying file

I can’t say what might be wrong with what you’ve crafted, but I have a question: Why not just set up a destination file that will publish the generated PDF to Resources\PDFs? Maybe you’re seeking something more automated, so I’ll sit down now. ;)

Re: Don't want a topic in TOC

I don't think you can get Flare to do what you want. I suspect that you'll need to edit the PDF, post build, to delete that item from the Bookmark pane.

Re: Image map on .svg file

I can't say this definitively, but I suspect that you can't use image maps with SVGs. I've wanted to use Capture to add callouts to SVGs, but can't, so I suspect that Flare's not programmed to do image maps on SVGs either.

Re: Import Excel table or cells into MadCap table

It's quite easy to copy cells out of Excel (or some other spreadsheet format) and paste them into Flare..

1. Copy the cells in Excel.
2. In Flare in a topic or snippet, add a blank paragraph and then Paste. Then, look for the little clipboard icon at the lower right of what was just pasted. It's a ...

Re: How do you display an HTML5 build without tabs

Your s/w developers will need to implement that window, not you the Help author. For one Help system I created, the s/w devs programmed a tabless browser window, rather than the default browser, to open when the Help was called. Then they populated that window with the HTML5 system I generated from ...

Re: Landscape orientation

Hi David.

First, you'll need to create a landscape page layout file with one or more landscape pages (e.g., left and right, normal, first, first right, and so forth).

Then, in your TOC, for first topic that you want to present in landscape, edit that topic's TOC item so that you set a page break ...

Not sure this sheds any light, but did the installer dev change the path to the CHM or even change the name of the CHM? This KB article is quite old (but then, so is CHM), so perhaps this hints at a solution?

I don't think there is a command anywhere for deleting annotations from an entire project. But, you can likely craft some regular expressions or even use the Find and Replace Elements functionality to craft a find-and-replace operation to run through the entire project. I ...

If you're creating Side Nav or Top Nav HTML5 output, you can create your own search results topic in which you'll include a search results proxy and whatever other content you want, such as the tip to appear above the results.

Re: Fonts in HTML5 output not correct on other machines

To clarify, the HTML5 help is being installed locally, rather than hosted in the web? Then, yes, the font you use in the help must be present on the end-users machines. When I worked on a project like this, we Help authors chose to use the same font that was used in the locally-installed software ...

MadCap identified an issue with Git source control interaction and has termporarily stopped offering 2021 r3 while they work on a solution.
