Re: Advance conditional tags

Continuing on with this topic,
does anyone know if there is a way to change the include or exclude state of a conditionally tagged piece of content based on the value of a variable?

Could you maybe run a pre-publication script to edit the condition expression in the fltar file based on the ...

Re: Anyone got neat solutions for scrolling tables on mobile

I have used it with Flare (and Dave has some implementation tips in this thread:

It can be a PITA getting all the extensions to work with RequireJS.

I must admit, I tried using the responsive ...

The DataTables (https://datatables.net/) Responsive extension will also redraw a table with a configurable layout for mobile.

Re: Integrating Flare with a CMS - Unique IDs

I would see two problems with using the SQLite database:

- If the database is deleted and rebuilt (which is sometimes done when troubleshooting), I would guess that the file IDs might change. So they probably aren't stable enough for your purposes.

- You could write your own values in the topics ...

Re: ApplicationHelp.js causing conflict with AngularJS

I got Buttons working with datatables in case anyone else is trying. I had to load all the dependencies individually, and datatables wanted to be called "datatables.net".
This is the setup for the column visibility button for example:

require.config({
paths:
{
"datatables.net":

Build failed: stack empty on publishing to Word

I'm getting this error with some (not all) print documents using Flare 12 and 2017 (and Office 365). Can anyone suggest what sorts of issues might cause this?

Is it possible to use the Buttons datatables extension with requireJS? I'm struggling to load it locally. Vanilla datatables work fine.

Re: .svg files in Flare 12

I created the file using Inkscape. I don't have Illustrator so can't test whether that makes a difference.
Are you saving the files as Inkscape SVG or as plain SVG? (I ask because I'd like to be able to use Inkscape SVGs myself).

Re: Create a new group type (like div, blockquote etc)

You could use an obscure but valid block level html element like, for example, "aside" if you aren't already using it for anything else.

Re: snippetblock style not working

The snippet is resolved on publication - so it isn't identified as a snippet in the output. You could wrap your snippet block in a div with the appropriate class applied.

Re: Files with changes

I've seen odd behaviour in Tocs when any of the links in the toc are relative (that is, of the form ../../Contents .. etc) rather than starting from the Contents folder (that is, of the form /Contents ..etc). In this case, the toc works within Flare and for Word output, but not for html.

The ...

Controlling styles when publishing to Word

I have a number of tables containing paragraphs that I want to manipulate with VBA after I have published to Word. I have created paragraph classes for the table content so that I will have named styles that I can target with VBA. For example, I have a p.screenText class which publishes to a p ...

Re: Change default BMP save to PNG

I'd like to be able to change this default too. You can change the default for a profile, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change the system default that applies to new profiles, or to shapes that don't have a profile.

Re: Flare 12 and Word tables

Wow, even more craziness in this document. I have several topics (about 12) where all the topic text has been printed, followed (after all the topics) by the tables which have been extracted out of the topics. This is nuts.

Flare 12 and Word tables

I have some odd things happening in my word output. I have a topic with the following structure:

Heading 3
Table 1
paragraph
Table 2

Repeat a number of times.

The tables are printing in an odd order. For example, table 2 may print before table 1, or sometimes the tables will be displaced under ...

Re: Side Navigation Links Not Working

I had a problem with the side menu in the topnav output at one point. The top navigation worked fine, and the toc worked inside Flare, but the context sensitive side navigation didn't work. In my case the error was in the toc itself. For some reason (maybe I had cut and pasted some toc entries? Not ...

Re: Can I have two topics appear on the same HTML page?

Let me guess adelleolson ... you're an Authorit user right? :)

Authorit lets you choose whether to start a topic on a new HTML page or append it to the previous page, but as far as I can see there is no obvious way to do this in Flare.

As an ex-Authorit user I also found the workaround for ...

Hi, thanks for the response - I don't think that can be it though because I usually do have those Appearance tab settings as you describe. I've tried fiddling with them in the past to see if it helped, but it didn't seem to make a difference to this issue.

Oddly, I can sometimes fix the problem by ...

Image scales, background doesn't

I have been resizing png images in Capture by using the image scaling settings in the File Properties and setting a fixed width in pixels.

Sometimes this works fine, but other times when I do this, the image scales, but the background doesn't - so when I view the image in Flare or in Word, it is ...

Re: Cell Content Style in TableStyle Editor

It's a bit more difficult though, because you want to have spacing between paragraphs, you just don't want the spacing at the top and bottom of the cell. If you make all the paragraphs look like td elements they won't have any spacing between them.

I guess you could either target just the first and ...

Re: Is there a way to filter a table by table headers

You can put an array of alternative paths in your path configuration. I think the intention is to allow you to fall back to a local script if a remote script is unavailable, but I've used this to include paths from topics at different depths. I don't know if there is a limit on the number of ...

Or use some javascript library that reads from Excel (like Sheets.js) to grab the cell contents and write them to your page? Speed might be a problem though.
