Publish failed: Cannot open data connection. (code=425)
Hi, after updating to 2017r3, publishing updates results in "forever spinning searches." The advice from support is to delete all existing published files on our server (these were built and published pre-2017r3) and then publish again. BUT I keep getting this "Compile Status" error when I publish ...

Git bindings lost after 2017r3 update
The copies of our Flare projects on "the build machine" co-shared by team members lost Git bindings after we updated to 2017r3. We have to rename the existing projects ---_old and reimport - start from scratch. Is this to be expected every time we update Flare?

Re: Selective Word Count
Thanks for the idea, ChoccieMuffin. Could work for just one project. Kind of a headache if we had to do it for all of them!

Re: Selective Word Count
Word output is getting a build log error: 10086 related to missing key in dictionary.
What alternatives do I have to count the words per output of a Flare project? (rather than counting words in all files)

Does the topic toolbar button for sending feedback require the use of Madcap Pulse? I tried to find out more but this particular button is not listed here: http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare201 ... olbars.htm

Re: Add Custom Content to Header
Thanks, Dave. After adding (3) below, I got it to work!
(3) If your target uses the setting Advanced > Do not use "Content" folder in output, then modify the CSS reference in the toolbar javascript by removing "content/".

Re: Add Custom Content to Header
Thanks, Dave. How can I position the text to the right of the logo and still have it be responsive? I hard-coded format within the toolbar javascript but it's not responsive (second screenshot). The first screenshot shows how the text looks when I use your style approach verbatim, without edits ...

Re: Add Custom Content to Header
Hi Dave,
How can I style the title in the meta tag? I tried adding a .css line (middle below) but it appeared to be ignored. For several tripane outputs.
$(document).ready(function(){
var headerTitle = $("meta[name='header-title']").attr("content");
$("#header>a").after('<div id="header ...

SSH / Git publish destination in Flare2017
Hi, is it possible to publish HTML5 output to Git / VSTS when source control is set up with SSH instead of HTTPS? This is for Flare2017 - we have not updated to R2 yet due to minitoc issues. Thanks!

Hi, I got a message via my website contact form from someone named Dave asking if I ever resolved this issue. Sorry - no change! I moved onto a different job shortly after posting this query and now I rarely work with PDF output.

help comment add-in
What add-ins are you all using to allow comments from the public on your help outputs?
I was looking at the Flare showcase ( https://docs.openx.com/Content/publishers/bidder.html ) - the OpenX help allows you to comment without logging in. Screenshot below.

Re: 2017r2 - update or not?
In case it helps: In my tripane project, I found that even after manually removing the extra code in the TOC entry, the error persisted. I had to remove the entire TOC entry, build, add it back, and rebuild. Finally the error went away.agracer wrote:Has anyone found a fix to the TOC problem?

I want to put a set of links into a website style dropdown similar to what you see at http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/ after you select PC and laptops. Screenshot below.

reusing sitecore content
In our HTML5 help tripane deliverables (in process of moving to top nav), we currently maintain our own footer content within our Flare projects. The footer design does not appear to be responsive -

GTM in external frame
Hi, we have Google Tag Manager (GTM) working on the content frames of our tripane HTML5 outputs, but it's not showing up in the external frame. Apparently inserting GTM in the external frame helps to track navigation clicks. Any idea how to do that?
