Looking for best practices in setting up responsive designs for HTML5 outputs. We have 20+ outputs hosted on our documentation site that are almost all tripane right now. We want to move them to top-nav.
For example, the HTML5 skins have the web, tablet, and mobile mediums set up correctly, but ...

search multiple top-nav outputs
Is there a way to search across top navigation web outputs that are all hosted on a site? For example, a search box on docs.acme.com that searches docs.acme.com/projecta, docs.acme.com/projectb, etc. Thanks!

Re: 404 handling after folder restructure
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the link. It's always a pleasure to see your informative responses.
If you host multiple help outputs on a single site, how are 404s handled on an output basis? (instead of a single 404 for the whole site)
Best,
Pamela

Thanks, all! Madcap support confirmed that Flare doesn't have flare handling as a project setting. I'm the second customer to request this feature.

link previews, search abstracts, and meta name tags
Link previews in Outlook.com (web outlook) show unexpected titles and metadata for our HTML5 help deliverables on help.nintex.com.

prevent line breaks at hyphens
Is there a way to prevent lines from breaking at hyphens? Right now my autofit table automatically shrinks column width to where the hyphens appear, as shown in the attached image.
I want to make my autofit table expand this column to the full paragraph "nm-data-created-date."
Thanks!

Not sure on the 404 other than modifying it for those sites to provide a link to the main help.
The help.nintex.com URL is equivalent to a single site. Is that right?
On this site are 16 help outputs. Is it possible to set up individual 404 handling by output, so that a bad link within en-us/nwc ...

We publish several HTML5 help outputs to an Azure app server at help.nintex.com.
Almost every HTML5 output shows a new folder structure because the related flare project Content folder was revamped. Example: help.nintex.com/en-us/nwc is one output.

Auto Suggestion for variables doesn't work
Tech support case submitted - for some reason when I type text that is in a variable set, I no longer get the auto suggestion pop-up with matching variables. I tried the same text with all 5 of my projects, and oddly, 2 of the projects do suggest something, but only from one of the variable sets ...

Re: ghost xml from external alias
Thanks for your reply, devjoe. In the source project, the problematic aliases are all linked to topics (not bookmarks). The linked topics appear in the TOC. Case-sensitivity was assessed.... Please keep the ideas coming. Thanks again!

ghost xml from external alias
Identifiers from alias files of external resources have strange behavior: the Contents pane is not updated (implying that the ghost topic is not in the TOC) and mini-toc proxies are not shown.
For example, if I go to the following URL I get pointed to a ghost file that was apparently developed ...

Re: How to add topic's Contents links inside a topic
If you don't mind using some javascript, it'll be possible to create a linked list of in-topic headings using a script. I did a quick search on Google and found several javascript examples to do exactly this.
Hi Dave, would the script be required in each topic? Weighing the benefits of this ...

Awesome - I'll keep that in mind!doc_guy wrote:You can also go back to your email that includes your license key. That email will have the download link that is tied to your key. So you can find older versions of Flare (assuming you had a license for them) that way.

Flare 11 download missing?
Can anyone point me to the Flare 11 download file?
When I google "Flare 11 download" I get a cached copy of the madcapsoftware.com site that redirects to Flare 12. I'm not ready for Flare 12 yet.
Thanks!

Thanks, Margaret! Found it. The % display setting was the issue
For anyone else looking:
Go to: Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display
Then click: "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" (if multiple monitors)
Select "Smaller - 100% (default)"
